The Siberian Gnome has been most affected by crossbreeding. He is centimeters larger than the European type and associates freely with Trolls. In certain regions there is not a single gnome to be trusted. The Siberian Gnome takes revenge for even the slightest offense by killing cattle, causing bad harvests, droughts, abnormally cold weather and so forth. The less said about him the better. |

BLUE GNOMES |

![]() |
Welcome to BLUE GNOMES! Gnomes dwell in all parts of the world. There are many different kinds of gnomes. At BLUE'S LAGOON, we are fortunate to have many varieties living here.(The Siberian Gnome is currently on vacation here, so you are lucky to get to see him and ummm, I would not disturb him if I were you.) Feel free to wander the forests and meet the Gnomes. They are very friendly but secretive. (Warning, see advice above on Siberian Gnome). |
Before you start your journey through the forests, here are some Little Gnome Facts. |

Gnomes are on the average around 15 centimeters tall including the cap.The males weigh 300 grams, the females 250-275 grams. |
![]() |
The male wears a peaked red cap, blue brown-green pants and either felt boots, birch shoes, or wooden clogs. Around his waist is a belt with a tool kit holding hammer, knife etc. |
The female wears gray or khaki clothing, consisting of a blouse and a skirt to the ankles. She also has black grey knee socks and high shoes or slippers. Before marriage, she dons a green cap with her hair hanging down. After marriage the hair disapeers under a scarf and darker colored hat. |
Gnomes usually get married at the age of 100 years. They are in their prime at 275 years.Their life span is on average 400 years. The married couple will only have one set of twins, a boy and a girl. |

The male gnome usually has to travel far distances to search for an eligible female gnome to marry. Plump women folk, round of form are the favorite. At midnight under the bride's birthday tree, the young couple promise to be eternally true. |

A typical Gnome breakfast consists of tea( rosehip, jasmine, mint), songbird eggs, mushrooms, sunflower butter, bread from acorn meal, jam and spice cakes. The main meal consists of, nuts, mushroom, peas, beans, potato bits, fruit ,berries, tubers, spices and preserves for dessert. As a beverage, they drink mead dew, fermented raspberries(very strong)and spiced gin as a nightcap. The gnome eats no meat. |

The Dune Gnome is a fraction larger than the woodland gnome. He too avoids contact with man. His clothing is sometimes quite drab. |
The Woodland or Forest Gnome is probably the most common. This is difficult to verify as he is not fond of showing himself to man and has many escape routes. His physical appearance is that of the ordinary gnome. |

The Farm Gnome resembles the House Gnome, but is of a more constant nature and is conservative in all matters. |
The House Gnome is a special sort. He has the most knowledge of mankind. He often inhabit old historic houses, so he has seen both rich and poor, and heard a great deal. He speaks and understands man's language, gnome kings are chosen from his family. |
The gnomes mentioned so far, are good natured always ready for a lark or to tease, they are never malevolent, with a few exceptions of course. If a gnome is really wicked, which happens only once in a thousand, it is due to bad genes that result from crossbreeding in faraway places. |

The Garden Gnome is a general type. He lives in old gardens, even those hemmed in between the new houses of modern cities. His nature is on the somber side, he enjoys telling melancholy tales. If he feels too closed in, he goes to the woods. But as he is quite learned, he feels out of place there. |
