In All I Do

Felt the sweet love of God today,
Wondrous how He greets in His own caring way.
Though tasks were menial yet tiring work,
Am thankful for blest health to clean and cook.

Washing stains from mountains of dishes,
Thought of Him listening to my endless wishes,
And how through Baptism He washes stains from souls
Enabling with His spirit to reach heavenly goals.

Scrubbing the linoleum and making it shine,
Thought of Him once scrubbing away earth's swine
With a flood of His tears for what man had become,
Then painting a glorious rainbow to erase the glum.

Dusting tables and swatting at webs
Thought of our meeting when this life ebbs.
Someday this body will be bones and dust
But my soul will live forever, I believe and trust.

Sweeping from carpets mounds of treaded dirt,
Thought of Him sweeping heart of pain and hurt.
Fluffing it with caring, forgiveness and love,
Able to forgive grudges as He winks from above.

Swishing the toilets and flushing the grime,
Thought of His miracles performed over time.
Raising dead, feeding flocks, parting seas,
And thanked Him for miracle of life given me.

Watching the clothes twirl round and round,
Thought of Him and felt His love abound.
Often senselessly twirling through life,
Until I invite Him in to handle the strife.

Now as I lay me down to sleep,
I pray my family and soul to keep.
Requesting kindness, love and laughter,
Pleading for no housework in His kingdom ever after.
