Fickle Season
Sphered god dips
on horizon;
sprays of rainbow sherbet airbrush
heavens' brumal bleached canvas,
painting celestial masterpiece.
Winter exhales last frigid breath
mingling at hearth of fickle season.
Tined, jagged lightning spears stab
black velvet tapestry ceiling.
Oblique, torrential teardrops
catapult from demonic fleece clouds,
lashing fields sprouting carpet
of emerald blades and clover.
Billows flee and glittering jewels
dance ethereal ballet to hypnotic
rhythm of crickets’ symphony;
final claps of thunder applaud.
Nature rouses, blanketed in bouquets
of perfumed blossoms spritzing
plains with nectar of virgin flora.
Spring majestically awakens.
