On this page we will be documenting our progress on our mud brick house. We will be doing all the work ourselves, where possible. We will hopefully have every little detail documented, so that others can learn from us.
Neither one of us have ever built a thing in our lives! So, this adventure should be very interesting, to say the least! LOL!
The objective is to save as much money as possible. Because we are in Australia & this will be our first home, we are eligible for the First Home Owner's Grant. Even though we will be owner builders. The grant is $7,000. AUD. This is how much we plan to spend on building the house. Can we do it? Stay tuned to see!
Here is a picture of our land. It's 65 acres in Woodstock, NSW. (Near Cowra) This is the north view. We paid $50,000 AUD for it. Pretty darn good considering we are now living in Sydney & people are paying at LEAST a half a million dollars for the standard little brick house, on a little quarter acre block! (If they're lucky!)
