Monster

Happy, Ryuke? You better be... here it is, the no pairing Nagi-centric fic.

The rush of power swelled through his dreams, crackling through his aura He wanted the power to wash it all away; the deceit, the pain and the stained life he was living. To make the nightmares leave his troubled mind. But the power back fired; it brought back rushes of memories long forgotten, flashing before his face. Blood, bruises, burning red eyes, taunts, then pain, alone, scared, the demons of the past whirled him about in a dizzying dance.

"Mommy, mommy I didn't mean it!" Nagi crouched in the corner, blood matted in his hair, his left eye swollen nearly shut. The women looming over him kicked him again.

"Devil spawn! You're nothing but a- a abomination! You monster! Get out!" Nagi sobbed and rocked back and forth, as the words repeated over and over in his head. 'Monster! Monster! Monster!'

"Go AWAY!" Nagi shouted at the older boys who hovered around him.

"Awww, the little crybaby wants his mommy." The leader said as he leaned forward and punched Nagi on the shoulder, hard.

"I said GO AWAY!" He whirled around to face the lead boy, but his lower lip trembled and his eyes were shiny with tears.

"Crybaby."

Nagi yelled as another boy pushed him, so he pushed back.

"Oho! You want to fight crybaby?"

"NO! Why can't you just leave me alone?"

"'Cause you're so much FUN crybaby!" Nagi was afraid, and angry. He became even more anxious as he felt the tingling power build up. The boys danced around him, screaming insults that slurred together, every once and awhile stepping in and punching Nagi. The power grew, and grew and he crouched in on himself, when he looked up, his eyes burned red. The lead boy gasped.

"What ARE you?" The boy backed away, stumbling into the wall behind him, "Get away, you- you monster!"

Nagi woke up, sitting bolt upright in his bed, covered in cold sweat. He hunched in on himself, and curld into ball. As he settled back into his bed, he whispered to the empty night.

"I'm not a monster."
