Prologue

"Keys...keys...where'd I put them blasted keys?!" 24-year-old Serena Tsukino mumbled to herself as she practically turned her whole living room upside down; her Bage plush-plush couch havocked as its pillows were thrown everywhere, drawers and papers discarded and thrown onto the carpeted floor, not leaving one thing left untouched. Finally calming down and taking a few deep breaths, Serena plopped down on her foot chair and laid her head into her hands. "Think..think...think...think......" she said as she drummed her fingers on her messy hair-do, blowing wisps of stray hair away from her wide, cerulean eyes with frustration.
Finally, a smile slowly crept up her lips as she stood up and headed towards the kitchen. Opening the refrigerator door, she hunted for her keys with a renewed vengeance, trying in vain to look for the long-lost car keys. "AHA!" she exclaimed after what seemed like forever, as she pulled her car keys out of a decaying "something" which could of passed off as a chocolate cake; were it not for its horrible stench and not-so mouth-watering appearance.
Grabbing a blueberry muffin and stuffing it into her mouth, she picked up her spectacles and dashed out of the house and into her worn down convertible. Closing the door shut, she turned on the engine, and almost yelled in annoyance when it made a "woosh" sound.
"No...don't do this to me. I'm already late for work as it is! Work with me girl!" Serena cried, as she hit the car. Turning the engine on again, she almost cried with joy, reversing and leaving a skid mark on her driveway.
She stopped for only a minute, as she finally noticed a moving truck was blocking her way out. "Hm..seems like I'm going to have a new neighbor." said Serena as she got out of the car and yelled at the truck driver to move his truck.

Finally arriving at the public library, she parked at the staff's parking, and rushed in. Taking the steps two at a time, she pushed through the revolving doors and made her way behind the counter. "Ah, Serena, there you are! I almost thought you died or something..." said a petite red-head with a southern-belle accent. "Very funny Molly." Serena said, rolling her eyes and making her way to the main office and sat down on her worn out leather chair.
Molly giggled. "You look pooped. Too bad I have bad news..."
"And it would be...?"
"Well...I need you to cover for me and put the books back into it's proper shelf. Please Serena!"
"Aw...Molly..." Serena pouted.
"PLEASE...oh PLEASE Serena?! I have a meeting to attend to at the community service downtown."
Serena sighed. "You owe me big time.."
Molly grinned from ear to ear as she rushed to hug her long-time friend. "Thank you Sere. I'll make it up to you..promise!" And with that said, she grabbed her jacket from a nearby chair and rushed out.

"Hm... "The Moon Princess" ..." Serena murmured..as she read off the title of a children's book. Putting the book neatly on the children section, she picked up another book from the push-cart. "Medieval Feuds...hm...interesting.." Serena said as she eyed the book, captivated by the title for some unknown reason. Just as she was about to open it, she felt a slight tug on her long, wooly skirt and looked down only to face a short woman in what seemed to be in her late 50's.
"Yes...can I help you?" Serena asked politely.
"Dear...do you mind showing me where I can find books on the Medieval times?"
"Well, you've found it. This is the section." Serena said with a slight giggle as she turned around to put the book she was holding on the shelf.
"Oh my...indeed it is. So sorry to bother you my Dear." said the old woman, a slight twinkle in her soft, hazel eyes.
"No problem......" Serena began as she turned back around...but only stopped to see that the old woman disappeared. "Hm...how strange. She sure can walk pretty fast for her age..." Serena mumbled. Looking down, she found an old looking book where the lady had once stood. It had a brown, leather covering and a golden pendant of some sort on the cover. Serena looked around. "The lady must've dropped this. Strange...I don't recall having a book like this in our library..." Serena said as she walked towards a nearby table and sat down.
The pendant was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. If she didn't know better...she could've sworn that it was real gold! But it couldn't be. It was a sort of crescent. "A rose..." Serena whispered..as she finally depicted what it was. It wasn't a pendant. It was a crescent of a rose.
After that train of thought, the crescent started to glow. Serena merely looked on in awe..as she traced a lone finger on the covering. In doing so...the world slowly began to get darker and darker. Her head pounding so intense, as the world suddenly went black.

Just then, Molly appeared looking down at the schedule she held in her hands and muttering. "Oh yeah, can I use your car?"
Looking up from her schedule-organizer with a grin, she suddenly frowned. "Uh...Sere?"
Strange...she could've sworn she heard her voice not so long ago. Looking around one last time, she groaned. So much for going to the community service of her's. "Well, wherever she is...it's obvious she isn't in the library." Molly said out loud.
Turning to leave, Molly sighed. Just as she did, a slight chuckle came from a dark corner. The old woman appeared again, a look of amusement clearly on her old, wrinkled face. "You don't know just how true those words are my dear."
Then, just as quickly as she appeared, she disappeared.

Rose : Rose : Rose : Rose : Rose : Rose : Rose : Rose : Rose : Rose : Rose : Rose : Rose : Rose : Rose : Rose

Serena stirred, groaning as pain shot from all places of her body and seemed to gather in her head. Sitting up, she soon found this to be a bad idea as she clutched her head. "Uh...my head..." she winced..for it too was difficult for her to even talk.
Shaking her head, she stood up and dusted the dirt off of her blue jeans. Suddenly, she tensed, her dusting ceased as this little piece of information suddenly registered in her head. Dirt...?
Looking up, she finally took in her surroundings. She stood in a vast field of grass. Trees could be seen in the distance, and looking up, she saw..clouds? To the east of her was a stream, with big boulders surrounding it. She blinked.
Where were the bookshelves? Hell with the bookshelves..where in God's name was she to begin with?!? "I have a feeling I'm not in Kansas anymore..." she murmured.
"Ah...there you are Lady Serenity! We were worried about you! I told you many times not to race your horse! And now look..your dress is all dirty and your horse is no where to be found!" There was a slight hesitation however. "...You're not hurt though, are you milady?"
Turning around slowly, she was surprised to see the most beautiful woman she had ever seen. There were four of them, sitting like a lady would on a horse as their dresses puffed up in front of them, one hand on the stirrups and the other holding what she could only presume to be riding hats. They wore old-fashioned clothing and had an air of royalty around them.
'Lady Serenity? Dress? Milady? What in God's name was this woman talking about??' Serena thought eyeing the raven-haired woman sitting on a black, horse.
Looking down, she mustered the urge to shriek. In what moment's ago were merely jeans and a plain shirt she had worn earlier on that morning to go to work, was now replaced with a brunswick, which she had read in a book, was something a woman wore that was an informal or traveling gown. She had a high neck, unstiffened bodie that buttoned, long sleeves, and a sack back (loose pleats ^^) and a hood.
She suddenly found it hard to breathe. It was probably the tight bodice she was wearing. Or maybe it was because she was in some sort of nightmare that she just couldn't wake up in. But whatever the reason was, she was fainting of exhaustion and from the lack of air. Slumping down to her knees, she held her chest. It was getting more difficult for her to breathe. She had to get air...
As she fell back, the last thing she saw were the four majestic looking woman rushing towards her, worried expressions written all over their faces....and the world went black for the second time that day.
