Her mom rushed out with the keys in her hand. "Sorry, sweetie, couldn’t find the keys." Her mom opened the car door and started the car. Serena hopped in and looked out the window as they passed by all the houses. It was January 7, the first day of school in the New Year. She had come in the middle of her sophomore year of high school. Since everyone knew everyone, she would be left out. Hopefully this would be the place they would stay and not move any more. Serena arrived at school and noticed it was already in session. She got out and tried to find the principal’s office. She walked to the end of the hallway until she noticed a sigh saying, PRINCIPAL’S OFFICE. She entered and told the secretary her reason for being there. After being handed her schedule and finding her classroom she entered cautiously. The teacher looked up, "Hello, do you need something?" " Mr. Cocaphin? I’m the new student," Her teacher looked at a sheet, "Serena Tsukino?" Serena nodded. "Welcome, why don’t you tell the class about yourself since you’re not from around here," He smiled at her and Serena shrugged. She had done this plenty of times. "Well, my name is, as you heard, Serena Tsukino, I moved here from Tokyo. I was born in Paris, France originally. When my father died, my mom and I moved around because of her job. I’ve lived in Africa, Russia, China, Tokyo, and now California. I’ve have yet to stay in a place for a whole year. Any questions?" People raised their hands and Serena called on a brown haired girl. "If you’re French, why do you have a Japanese last name?" "Because my mom is Japanese and when my father died I took up her last name," "What does your mom do?" "She’s a famous artist in France and in Tokyo, you might have heard of her. Ilene Renée, that’s her pen name." There were murmurs among the class and Serena could tell they have heard of her mom. "Well, thank you Serena," Mr. Cocaphin got off his desk, "Since you know some French, and this is a French class, why don’t you tell something about yourself in French." Serena raised her eyebrows and nodded. <<Je m’appelle Serena. J’aime manger les omelettes and tarte au fromage. J’adore ma chat, Luna. J’adore jouer les sports, aussi. Je desteste ma grande tante. Interrogs?>> "Very good!" the class applauded and Serena smiled. "Can anyone translate what she said?" A boy in dorkish looking glasses and brown hair raised his hand. "Melvin," "She said, hello my name is Serena. I like to eat omelets and cheesecake. I adore my cat Luna. I adore playing sports also. I hate my fat aunt. Questions?" Everyone laughed and Serena grinned and shrugged. "Thank you Melvin, Serena you may go sit by Andrew. Andrew please raise you hand." Andrew raised his hand and Serena took her stuff and went to sit by him. She stole a side-glance at him and found he was kinda cute. His blonde hair was spiked (AN: work with me!) and he bright blue eyes were cheerful. Andrew caught her staring and winked and she smirked. "Miss Tsukino, I have heard that Andrew already has a girlfriend so please pay attention up here." Serena blushed, "Yes but it’s so tempting to kiss Andrew’s cute face," She said sarcastically and the class laughed. "Miss Tsukino, please just pay attention up here!" Andrew decided to help her out, "That’s gonna be hard Mr. C, you have a competition!" The class roared with laughter and Mr. Cocaphin just shook his head, trying to hide a smile. "I guess your right Mr. Parker, class, you may spend the rest of the period studying for your test tomorrow. The class nodded and got out their study notes. "Hey, I’m Mina," Serena looked up and saw a girl with long blonde hair and a fashionable red bow tying her bangs back. "Hi," "This is Lita," the girl named Lita stepped forward and Serena saw that Lita was a tall, strong brunette with her hair pulled back into a ponytail. Mina also introduced her to Amy and Raye. Amy was a quiet blue haired chick and Raye was a raven head who had a fiery temper. "Nice to meet y’all," They smiled at her. "And Andrew is my boyfriend," Mina challenged, Serena just looked at her. "Nice catch," "Thanks," They glared at each other then burst out laughing. "I like you, welcome to our school." "Merci," "Do you have a boyfriend?" Serena suddenly looked down at the floor. "I can’t." Mina stared at her surprised. "Why not?" "I move a lot, I can’t get attached to someone." The bell rang and Serena gathered up her stuff. "Ok, well what do you have next?" "Um," Serena peered at her schedule, "Social Studies," "You have that with Amy!" Amy walked with her to social studies. After that she had math with Lita, science with Mina, and language arts with Raye. After science the bell rang for lunch and Mina walked with her to the cafeteria. "After you buy lunch, come join us." Serena nodded and went off to buy lunch. After she bought it, she looked for Mina and her group and spotted them with a couple of guys including Andrew. She went up to them and joined them. "Oh guys," Mina called for their attention, "This is Serena, Serena meet Greg, Ken, Chad and Darien." "Greg is Amy’s boyfriend, Ken is my boyfriend, and Chad is Raye’s," Lita put in. "Which leaves you free to date Darien." Andrew added cheerfully. "I don’t date," Serena said coldly and the guys were astounded. "Not even me?" Darien asked, putting on a baby face. "Especially not you," Serena shot back and guys all laughed. "Bitch," "Asshole," "Ok, break it up you two," Andrew intervened, "why not Serena?" "Because she can’t," Darien sneered. "Dare, stop," Andrew warned, "Ok it’s ok Andrew, let’s see what he’s made of." Serena jeered back. "At least I don’t have Meatballs instead of my brains," "Obviously you do, or else you wouldn’t be talking about yourself like that," "Meatball head," "What’s up with that ugly green jacket of yours?" "Didn’t your father teach you any manners?" The girls and Andrew grew silent. "I don’t have a father," The bell rang and Serena walked stiffly to her next class and Darien stared after her. "Dare you fool," Andrew yelled at him, "She’s the perfect girl for you!" Darien glared at him and rushed to his next class. Serena changed in the locker room into her PE uniform. The girls had a sleeveless shirt with short shorts. (AN: better than my PE uniform!) she walked out and spotted a PE teacher. "Hi, I’m new here, I’m supposed to be in Mrs. Smiths class," The lady nodded, "I’m Mrs. Smith, you must be Serena," Serena nodded. "Well, I need to test you and another student who was absent. I need to see where you are." Serena nodded again and looked around as they waited for the other student to arrive. "Ok Serena, we’re ready," Serena turned around and walked to her teacher when she saw Darien standing right next to Mrs. Smith. Not him again! Mrs. Smith asked surprised. They nodded and Serena mumbled softly, "Unfortunately," Darien glared at her. "Well, let’s begin!" They followed her into the gym. "You need to do your physical fitness testing. The requirements are 20 push-ups each, 35 crunches, and you need to do the mile in 8 minutes or less." Mrs. Smith listed the requirements. "If you do better or more I give extra credit, ready?" Serena and Darien nodded. "Let’s start with the crunches," Serena suggested and Mrs. Smith nodded. "You need to follow the tape which will say ‘up…down…up…’ etc. I will count out loud, ok?" They nodded again and sat down on the mat. "Ready? Begin. Up…down…up… up…down…up…" When the tape said up, they went up, when the tape said down, they went back down, and so on. Mrs. Smith counted, "1…2…3……..30…you can stop now," But Serena and Darien kept on going and Mrs. Smith sighed. "35…36…37…" "You getting tired yet?" Darien asked Serena breathlessly. "No, you?" "No, I’m fine," They went on without talking, they hadn’t noticed that the entire class had gathered around them to watch. "48…49…50… are you going to stop now?" Mrs. Smith asked and they both shook their heads. "I’m not tired yet," "Neither am I," Serena added and they kept on going with the tape which suddenly stopped. "Need to rewind the tape," Mrs. Smith said laughing a little, "I’ll be the tape for you until it’s done rewinding. Up, down, up, down…" "You guys are at 100," Someone form the crowd said and Serena looked at Darien. "Ready to give up?" Serena asked him mercilessly and Darien glared at her. "Not in your life time," Serena laughed sarcastically. "I should let you know that I do 500 every other day." She bragged and the class gasped. "Why…" Darien asked, "Would you waste your time on that?" "I have to keep in shape," Serena said simply and Darien tilted his head so he could look at her. Her arms were muscular and same with her legs but not too muscular that it was gross, she most likely had a 6 pack under her shirt. "Well, crunches may be your specialty," Darien commented, "But push-ups are mine. I do 250 of them every day," (AN: how that is possible, I do not know. But I envy them both) "How many are we at?" Serena asked Mrs. Smith who had been counting quietly. "175," Suddenly the 5 minute PE bell rang. Mrs. Smith flicked the tape off. "Ok, you may go in and change," She said to her class. "You two go in or you’ll be late to your next period class. We’ll do push-ups tomorrow." Serena and Darien got up and stretched. "You’re pretty athletic," Darien remarked. "You’re pretty observant," Serena retorted as she tired to find the girls locker room. "It’s over there," Darien pointed and Serena followed his finger. "Thanks," She walked in the direction and stopped at a door. "This one?" Serena asked and Darien nodded, even though that really was the guy’s locker room. Darien sniggered waited while Serena walked into the ‘girls locker room’. "Ahhh!" Serena ran out 30 seconds later with her shirt off and only wearing her sports bra. She was followed by a lot of guys. "Get away from me perverts!" Serena yelled as she tried to swat the guys away. Then she spotted Darien laughing on the side and she grew as mad as a bull. But unlike a bull, she decided not to charge…right away at least. Serena sauntered up to Darien with her shirt hanging loose in her hand. She slipped her muscular arms around his neck and pressed up closed against his chest. "Darien," she whispered seductively, "You seem to be a big strong man," Serena ran one hand down his chest and stopped just where his boxers where shown. "Will you help me take care of these guys?" Darien looked into her blue innocent eyes and pouty lips. How could he refuse? Especially when she was standing right in front of him in her bra, her tan stomach showing. He shook his head, trying to clear the mental pictures. Sighing, he walked up to the guys and talked to them quietly. When the others heard what he said, they made a disgusted face and turned back into the locker room. "What. Did you say?" Serena asked angrily as she watched the guys run into the locker room disgusted. "Oh nothing much," Darien said like it wasn’t important. Serena growled and grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled him up against her. "What. Did. You. Tell them?" "That you had sex with your bro.," Serena stared at him for a second. SLAP! "You mother fuckin’ piece of shit! How the hell could you! You have a nasty mind. Why the fuck did you say that!" Serena rambled on furiously. The slap echoed in the halls. "Oh come on baby," Darien gathered her up in his arms. "You asked me to do something for you and I did," Punch! Serena punched him in his left eye and he pushed her away. "Why the fuck did you punch me?" "Because you fuckin’ deserved it," The bell rang and people scrambled out from the classrooms. They took one look at Serena who had her shirt off and Darien who was holding his eye, and laughed. The new girl had taught him, the heartbreaker of the school, something. Finally. "Shit!" Darien swore. "What?" Serena asked curiously. "I’m gonna be late for class," "So?" "I’ve already skipped a ton and the teach said if I skip one more I fail," Darien explained. "Fine, I’ll help you. Get dressed." Darien looked her over. "I could say the same to you." They went off into the right locker rooms and quickly changed. "Show me where my next classroom is and use that as an excuse." Darien nodded and led the way to her next class. She thanked him and opened the door. Serena peered in and looked at the teacher. "And you are?" the teacher asked. "I’m the new student," she said quietly. The teacher nodded and told her to sit by the boy in the front. Serena sat down and unpacked her backpack. "I am Miss. Haruna, I teach drama, have you been in any plays before Serena?" "I’ve been in Romeo and Juliet," Serena said. "And what part did you play?" "Juliet," Miss. Haruna nodded apprehensively and allowed Serena to settle down and meet some of her classmates. Serena turned to see who she was sitting by, and gasped in shock. "You!" |
