There, all the artists came, some performed and others presented. Most got an award, others went home sad but promising themselves a better year next time. The groups got ready, and Serena stepped out first. She was wearing a long peach slinky dress that touched the ground. It had a v-neck that went down to her belly button. On her neck was a silver necklace with one piece going down the v-neck about midway. Her hair was done in an elegant s-shaped bun with one strand hanging down, curled. Her face was powdered lightly and light brown eye shadow covered her eyes. Light natural pink lipstick was put on, with lip-gloss on top. On her feet were 2 inch lavender high heels. Upon her nails was a light brown nail polish color. She looked gorgeous. Next came Raye, she was wearing a red dress that went up to her calves. The sleeves were about a centimeter wide. The dress was sparkly and on her feet was matching heels that had straps. Her face was also powdered lightly and had hot red lipstick on. Red eye shadow surrounded her eyes. Raye’s hair was layered neatly. On her fingers was bright red nail polish. Then came Mina. She was wearing a strapless orange dress that went down to her knees. She was wearing a 1-inch heel sandals, and her nails were painted orange. Her face was just powdered slightly and had glossed her lips and put light eye shadow on. She put the little mole thingy by the corner of her mouth and had a light orange feather scarf on. She had a pearl necklace on and her blonde hair was curled. After that came Lita. She had a light green sleeveless top on and a shimmering skirt. On her neck was a silk green scarf. Her hair was put into a neat bun with a strand hanging down dyed green. On her feet wear ½ and inch green sneakers. Her nails were painted majestic green and her eyes were light green eye shadow. Her lips were a pale pink. Last came Amy, with a long blue dress and a feather overcoat. Her hair was brushed in and she had blue eye’s shadow on. Face was powdered casually and baby blue nail polish was painted on her fingers. She was wearing blue flats on her feet and on her neck was a simple blue chain. The guys all gasped when their respected girls walked out. The men had on a simple suit and combed their hair back. They each gave their girl a corsage. Darien gave Serena an anklet with two hearts in the middle. She smiled and put her foot up on a stool so he could put it on. After doing some finishing touches, the groups got into two limousine, one for the guys and one for the ladies. They arrived at the big building and the limo’s stopped in front of the red carpet. As camera’s flashed and reporters stepped closer for a better view, Greg stepped out and walked over to the other limo and helped Amy out. They started walking down the isle slowly. Then came Ken and he helped Lita out. After them came Andrew and Mina, Chad and Raye, and last but not least, Darien and Serena. When Darien helped Serena out, she gave him a secretive smile and the camera’s started flashing. They walked down the red carpet and into the building. "Here to present the New Artist of the Year award are Serena and Darien!" A loud round of applause came for them. Darien slipped a hand around Serena’s waist and they walked up to the stage. "Please?" Darien sighed but agreed. "If this makes you happy sweet, and this is a good idea. Do you have a particular place in mind?" Serena grinned mischievously and Darien looked at her inquiringly. "The orphanage. The orphanage that you were raised at." Darien gasped. Darien took a deep breath as he looked around in this familiar place. He grinned when he felt Serena small hand fit into his big one. He glanced down at her and kissed her softly on the lips. The two speakers, a girl and boy, plus their friends, 18 others appeared in sight. "Is that really you?" the boy asked, he was about ten or so. Serena bent down in front of them, and asked the girl what their names were. "I’m Bunny and he’s-" "Darry" the boy glared at his companion and introduced the others. Brenda must have known what they were thinking because she said, "The children got to pick their names when they reached the age of eight. Because you used to go here, I got all your CD’s -and Serena’s- and we play ‘em here. The kids love it!" They heard a couple of cars come up the driveway and Darry ran up to the window. "It’s the media!" Darry pronounced the word slowly. Serena and Darien looked at each other shocked. How had the media known where they were? A knock sounded through the hall and Brenda opened the door. "Hi, we are from News Channel 43 and we heard that Darien Shields and Serena Temple were here-" Brenda started closing the door. "Wait! Brenda interrupted, "Would you like to open you’re presents?" the big family rushed to the couch and sat up angelically. Everyone laughed. Serena and Darien took turns handing out presents. They called out the child’s name, handed him a present and an autographed CD of both their songs combined. Darien noticed a small boy reading in the corner. He walked over to him and sat down. "Hi, what’s your name?" "Derrick" he said shyly. "What book are you reading?" "The Hobbit" "I love that book!" Darien exclaimed. The boy looked up at Darien eagerly. "Really? Me too!" "Have you read the sequel?" Derrick shook his head and Darien produced something from behind his back. "It’s Lord Of The Rings!" he squealed, "That’s not all" Darien added, "it’s signed by the author also" Derrick hugged the book to his chest then hesitated and hugged and Darien. Darien smiled and hugged back. In the background Serena beamed with Bunny’s hand in hers. "So why are you with the others?" Darien asked Derrick. "Because they don’t like me" Derrick looked down ashamed. "You know I used to go here" Derrick nodded slightly. " I wasn’t all too popular either" Derrick glanced up wondering where this was going and Brenda ushered the others around Darien while Serena sat down behind Darien and put her arms around his waist and leaned against his back. "I was lonely and didn’t have any friends. My parents died in crash and I couldn’t remember anything. So to make up for time, I studied 24/7 and at age 15, I went to work and saved my money. When I was 18 and free, I had closed my feelings off to everyone, even my best friend. I was known as the cruel heartless heartthrob. "I teased Serena even though I liked her and when she left I was crushed. I buried myself in studies once more and started liking music. Soon I formed a band with some friends I had made. When I met up with Serena’s band I didn’t recognize her because she was known as Usagi back then. "I realized it was her the day after we watched the performance of ourselves. And I got her friends to tell me the truth. They confessed that Serena did love me and that gave me courage." Darien took a deep breath and leaned against Serena’s strong arms slightly. She kissed the back of his head and he placed his hands over hers. "I guess what I’m saying Derrick, is that studying isn’t everything. Friends are. The car ran of the road and all that was heard was the screams of Serena. The car bumped shakily down the ledge, which luckily for them was not that steep. The driver of the truck, who had quickly gotten out when he saw the vehicle go over the road, grabbed his cell phone and dialed 911. Within 10 minutes of the call, the paramedics came and retrieved the car and the people inside, who were rushed to the hospital. ~IN THE HOSPITAL~ The hospital was crowded with news reporters, fans, sympathizers, and their own band mates who were weeping together openly. "And we are here in the Silver Star Hospital where allegedly Serena Temple and Darien Shields are in. They ran off the road after spending a Christmas night at Darien's old orphanage…" "I can’t believe it," Mina sobbed next to Andrew. "I hope they’re ok," Raye sniffed as she was comforted by Chad. Amy appeared through the double doors with tears streaming down her face. "They are gonna be ok," Amy said as everyone in the hospital sighed in relief. "They had a minor concussion and a couple broken bones, but they will survive." Everyone cheered as they heard the news, but Greg asked the question that was on everyone’s mind. "When can they play?" he asked, and Amy sighed, "Not for another couple months when they have healed. They can sing and write, but no dancing." The bands nodded and went into to talk to their leaders. ~ Press conference ~ Camera’s flashed as 8 of the 10 members took a seat at the table. "Thank you for coming," Amy began, "We would first like to thank our supporters." "And all our fans," Raye added, "We have good news and bad news." "The good news," Andrew said, "Is that they will be ok. They can still sing." "The bad news," said Ken, "Is that they cannot dance because they have a couple broken bones each and have suffered a concussion." "We should be have concerts in about 6 months," Greg added. "Serena has a broken arm and a sprained ankle. Darien has a broken leg and a sprained arm," Amy continued. "They will be ok," Chad repeated, "They will be ok," * * * "Ugh, Darien?" Serena moaned as she turned to look at him. "Yea," "Do you remember what happened?" Darien turned to look at Serena. "Yea, we were coming back from the orphanage and singing songs. Then all of sudden this big truck comes out of nowhere. I swerve to miss it and we go off the road and that’s all I remember." Serena sighed. She remembered that too. But she also remembered something else. "I also remember that as we were going down, you said, Serena if I don’t make it…" "Out alive than I just want you to know that I love you." Darien finished as he stared at Serena. "And I meant that." Serena blushed under his gaze. She was about to say something when everyone rushed in. "Are you guys ok?" Mina shrieked. Serena laughed and nodded. "Oh thank god!" Lita sighed. The groups talked and laughed together, all thankful that their friends were ok. * * * "Dare, we finally get to get out of this hospital! Finally yummy food!" Serena shouted as everyone came in to take them to their house. "Hell yea!" Darien declared and everyone laughed. ~@~@~@~ The next couple of months were spent working hard. They recorded a new album which reached the number one spot and stayed their for 3 months. A world record! Serena and Darien worked out every day with what wasn’t injured and went to a restaurant for their anniversary, in which Serena bought the most expensive items but only ate half of it. The next month, their casts were off and they started practicing for their upcoming concert. ~@~@~@~ Serena and Darien got ready for their big single He Loves u Not and End of the Road (AN: by DREAM and BoyzIIMen) "I’m so excited!" Serena shrieked. And Darien nodded and laughed. Serena was gonna sing first then Darien. What Serena didn’t know was that Darien had a surprise for her. A very big surprise. The announcer called Serena to the stage and she gave Darien a quick kiss before hopping off onto the stage. When Serena got on stage she started singing and doing some hand motions to go long with the music. As always, but today was a special day. She was wearing a silk white dress and instead of the regular meatballs, it was done in an elegant bun with a strand coming down. She was wearing silver earrings on her ears and her face was glittering silver. "Everyone line up!" Keri, the organizer, shouted. Everybody lined up in their specific place. The hulas went first followed by Serena and her parents. She walked down the isle with five cute little children holding her train. And when she got to the end, she gave her parent a kiss and seated them off to the side before continuing up the isle. Everyone held their breath as she walked down, simply because she was looking more radiant then ever. The media had been invited along with the band friends and a lot of the stars were there too. Darien walked down next, in place of his parents was his best friend Andrew. They quickly hugged and Andrew took place on the other side of the hula. Darien joined Serena at the altar. Then came the bridesmaids, Mina, Raye, Amy, and Lita. Each wearing their respected colors. Mina had on a gold dress with gold loop earrings and golden shoes. Her hair was done in fancy curls. Raye had on a graceful red sparkling dress with crimson earrings and scarlet shoes. Her was layered and cascaded down her back. Amy was wearing and aqua blue long dress with sapphire earrings and Prussian high-heeled shoes. Her hair was twisted exquisitely in small little curls. Lita had on a dark green dress with matching olive earrings. Her green boots shone with each step she took and her hair was done in a fancy ponytail. After each bridesmaid went own the isle and took their place on one side of the isle, the men walked down, all wearing a jet blue tux and their hair slicked back. Finally the ceremony began. After listening to the lady talk about love, relationships, etc. She finally came to the important parts. "Do you, Darien Shields, take this woman as your wife?" Darien gazed at Serena with love in his eyes. "I do," "And do you, Serena Tsukino, take this man as you husband?" Serena stared into Darien’s Prussian eyes. "I do," "I know pronounce you husband and wife by the power invested in me. You may now kiss the bride." And Darien kissed Serena with all he had, ignoring the loud catcalls and whistles. When they finished ramming their tongues down each other’s throats, they walked back up the isle and into the hall followed by the people who participate in the wedding. When the eating area was set up, the guests were ushered in and seated at their tables. After eating the first course, people started giving toasts. After Serena’s parents gave a toast and Andrew gave an extremely funny one, Amy stood up. "Serena and Darien, you must know that we planned some of this. It first started when Serena wanted to do a duet with the guy’s band. But that was actually my idea. Mina had the idea of match making Serena and Darien, knowing that they were perfect for each other. After working out the details and after a vigorous journey, we finally managed to get you together. And who do you think set up the televisions in the rooms? Of course we had to have the other guys help, so we told them about our plan and they agreed. That’s why Darien, they accepted the proposal to do a duet. The only thing we haven’t predicted is the two of you getting married before us." Everyone laughed at that and as Amy sat down Mina stood up. "Oh no," Serena muttered and hid her face. "I can tell Mina is gonna say something embarrassing," she whispered to Darien and he just kissed her temple. "Yes it’s my turn," Mina exclaimed, "and I will say some pretty embarrassing stuff. But first, when we were hooking you up, we did not expect to fall in love ourselves. But we did and that actually helped the plan. Andrew I love you!" Mina shouted to Andrew who blushed. Raye coughed and Mina continued. "Oh yea, Darien, who do you think it was that gave you Serena’s thong? Or Serena, who do you think it was that told you Darien was wearing monkey boxers and they were about to fall off soon? Me! Of course I had some help from Andrew, but still, I should get the credit-" "Mina!" Lita growled, and Mina turned red. "Right, um yea, we’ve enjoyed watching y’all fall in love. And one last thing… we did take the pictures of you two!" Mina sat down and everyone focused on Darien and Serena who were slumped together in their chairs, faces beet red and looking like they wanted to disappear. Luckily Lita saved them, "Toast to the newly weds!-" almost saved them before Raye jumped in, "If you have any kids on your honey moon, name ‘em after me!" "RAYE!" Serena shrieked and hid even lower under the table. "Time for the bride and groom to dance," the DJ announced as he started playing a song. Serena and Darien smiled a him gratefully and slipped him 200 bucks. They kissed once more before walking off the floor. The DJ struck up some party music and everyone danced like there was no tomorrow. Everyone was joyful about this marriage, and felt that this would last. #HONEYMOON# "Oh Darien, it’s beautiful!" Serena squealed as he took the blind off her eyes and pointed her to the ocean. It’s waves were silver and the clouds were pink and purple. Serena gasped in amazement. "Just like you," Darien said sweetly as Serena blushed. He led her back in to the bedroom and we all know what they did there for the next two weeks. ;) @MONTH LATER@ Serena boarded the bus after visiting the park where she had once done some thinking before running to Darien. "Over here sweetie!" An old lady’s voice floated through. Serena looked to where the familiar voice was coming from and saw the same couple. She went to go sit with them. "Hello," Serena greeted as she sat down. "Hello! How is it going?" The lady asked her and Serena just smiled and held up her hand where the ring was placed. "Oh I’m so happy for you!" The old woman was jubilant. "Yes, and I want to thank you for helping me realize that I loved him," Serena told them happily. "Oh it was nothing, after al, we don’t read the newspapers for nothing!" Serena laughed, "So you know," "Of course, we also knew that you two were perfect for each other." The man spoke up. Serena smiled, "Can I have your name and number? So I can invite you to come with us somewhere," The old couple glanced at each other. "Well sure, here it is," They handed Serena a piece of paper with their names and number scribbled on it. She thanked them. "Well, this is my stop, bye!" Serena hopped off and walked home. "Hey Darien!" Serena shouted as she walked into their new home. He poked his head out of the kitchen. "Yes dear?" "Remember I told you about the old couple who I met right?" Darien nodded, "Well I got their number!" Serena handed Darien the slip and he looked at it. His face paled noticeably. "Darien, what’s wrong?" Serena asked worried. "Remember when I told you about my grandparents whose story was just like ours and they died fifty years ago?" Serena nodded, "This is them."
