Tsukino Usagi quickly rushed to her locker trying to slip by unnoticed as she clutched her books to her breasts. She was considered a geek here in Bayside High, with her big, dorky glasses and her granny-like clothes. Some of the guys stopped to point and laugh at her while the girls snickered and looked at her with obvious distaste.

Trying to ignore all of their criticism, she opened her locker and put some of her books and notebooks inside. Thankfully, school was finally over as everyone piled out of the school halls and headed towards home. Closing her locker, she quickly tried to make her way out of the building.

But she was tripped by one of the popular girls as they just threw their heads back and laughed watching her struggle to get up while trying to collect some of her notebooks and her glasses that had slipped off due to the sudden fall. Finally seeing her glasses she reached out for it and put it back on.

She didn't really need glasses, but she didn't like being noticed because she was always told that her eyes were beautiful, and she didn't want any beauty seen. She just wanted to be considered a no one and an outcast. Trying to will herself not to cry, she stood back up and ran out of the school.
Finally arriving home, she was confronted by her annoying little brother, Shingo, who did nothing but just made her day worse by doing what all little brothers do best...annoy the living day lights out of you. He stopped though, as he saw a single tear run down her smooth cheeks as she ran up the stairs and closed the door behind her, thinking that if she slammed it hard enough, she would close out the world along with it.

For as long as she could remember, she never was good at making friends. She had low self-esteem as well when it came to her looks. She had LONG blonde almost silverish looking hair that she always tied in a tight bun. She didn't like dealing with her hair, and always wanted to cut it. But whenever she thought that she had made up her mind and decided to cut it, she just couldn't pull through with it.

Her eyes were the most beautiful shade of blue. Cerulean blue, to be precise. But she hid those big beautiful orbs (eyes) behind large, thick glasses that she didn't even need...afraid that if a person took one look into her eyes, they would see her for who she really was. She hid her womanly figure and ravishing curves in baggy granny-like clothes. Which today consisted of a cheap, pink flea-market shirt and a long brown skirt that reached all the way down to her ankles. She didn't own anything revealing or anything that would hint to the rapidly maturing body beneath the clothing. And that's how she wanted it to stay.

To many people, it took only one glance before they automatically put her in the "reject" category. Sometimes she couldn't help but wonder how it would be like being noticed, popular, and having friends. At her age of 17, you would of thought that she would be like any other teenager; who spends countless hours on the phone and the mall, and just gossiping about their latest crush and the newest fashion.

But she did none of those things. She just hid herself in the world of books and her own dark cocoon that she was slowly building around her.

She was suddenly pulled out of her thoughts by a knock on her bedroom door. Without even waiting for a response, her father, Tsukino Kenji, walked in with a broad smile. He was soon followed by her mother, Tsukino Ikuko, who was a the kind of mother any daughter could of wished for. She unconsciously twisted the apron that she always wore around her waist and looked at anything and everything in the room, BUT her daughter.

"Great news, honey! My boss just transferred me to a higher position in my job!" Mr. Tsukino declared happily. Usagi just had a blank expression on her face and put on a weak smile. "Er...that's great to hear dad." ...Silence... Her father then all of a sudden grunted in mock pain as his wife nudged him hard on his side with her elbow and plastered an innocent smile on her young features when her daughter raised a brow and turned to look at her with increasing curiosity. "Um...dear, are you forgetting to tell her something?"

Mr. Tsukino just scratched his head, "Well I already told her the important news, DEAR." "What about the OTHER IMPORTANT news that you FORGOT to mention?" she inquired. "What other important ne....OH! hehe," he said with a sweat drop. "Guess it just slipped my mind."

Usagi could swear she could hear a cricket chirp in the slowly darkening sky as she sweat dropped.

*Silence*

"Do you mind telling me what the "oh-so-important" news is?" she asked with an exasperated sigh.

"Oh, well...you see honey...since I've been transferred to a higher position, we need to get closer to where my job is. So...we need to move by the end of this week."

Usagi could only blink. 'THAT was the important news?!' her mind seemed to scream at her. 'It's not like I have any friends at school worth missing.'

"Oh ok," was all she said. Her father could only silently thank the Lord that she didn't burst out in anger like most teenagers her age. "You better get packing then," and with that he left the room.

Her mother stayed in the room, however, and walked up towards her daughter. Settling a comforting hand on her shoulder, she smiled and sat down beside her on her bunny printed bed sheets. "Oh Usagi-chan. Why do you hide your feelings like this? All you do is hide all of that beauty and bury your nose in books. Not that there is anything wrong with that. But I just want to see you happy."

Usagi smiled, "Arigatou, sama. But I'm ok. Really." she lied. Still looking at her quizzically, not believing her daughter for one second, she just smiled back since her daughter's smile was contagious. 'We'll drop this subject for now,' she thought. 'But I promise, I'll do anything to have my happy, cheerful daughter back.' And with that last thought in her head, she left the room.

Standing up, Usagi walked up to her closet which held a big mirror attached to the door. She looked at the sad stranger that seemingly seemed to stare back at her and sighed. She had no idea when she started dressing the way she did. Then for the first time in many years, a real smile came to her lips, which made her even more beautiful. She was going to a NEW school. Meaning that she could start over! Many ideas popped into her head all at once.

'First thing tomorrow, I'm going to the mall and get a new wardrobe. And maybe change my appearance a little.' she thought with a slight giggle. Scrunching up her nose, she took off her glasses and threw it away into her wastebasket. It was finally time for a new beginning. A brighter beginning. And with these last thoughts going on in her head, she quickly fell asleep.

* = * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * =

Early the next morning, she went to the mall and did some serious shopping. Of course she had no idea what the latest fashion was. But finding the store where the latest clothes and accessories in the mall was a no-brainer, since it was the only store that was packed with many squealing teenage girls. Going in, she completely got lost in the mood as she spent practically all of her money on her clothes. "This is enough to fill in a big walk in closet!" Usagi chuckled.

She had a little bit of a hard time trying to get everything in her car, but she managed it. She was about to head back home, but one specific store caught her attention. "Make-over Magic," Usagi said reading off the sign in big, bold letters. Walking in, she smiled, knowing that when she got out of there, was going to look different. And with that different appearance, she was also going to change her whole attitude. "World...here I come!"

Coming out, she smiled. In all her years, she had never had so much confidence in her appearance...till now. Her fabulous make-up artist and hair stylist could only gape at the natural beauty that this girl had remarkably been able to hide!

Her big cerulean, eyes took in the affect her look had made as every single guy at the mall stopped in their tracks and stood with their mouths hanging open for all the world to see. This caused a melody-like giggle to escape her full lips, which only helped to have even the girl's envy her.

Her hair was finally free from its tight bun. Now it was curly (AN: and for all you Sailor Moon fans who absolutely ADORE her "meatballs"...then don't worry! this curly hair thing isn't permanent! ^.^), and since her hair stylist also didn't have the heart to cut her hair, she left it at its long length. Her long, curly hair cascaded all the way down past her ankles, which gave her the appearance of a Goddess.

Little butterflies were clipped here and there, but otherwise her hair was perfect. She needed little make-up for she was already gorgeous, but her make-up artist decided to go on and add a little anyways, knowing that it would have to compete with her beauty-like appearance.
In one of her clutched hand, she held a small bag with make-up supplies that they generously offered her for free. She loved the attention she was getting.

Usually, when people stared at her, it was often because of her geeky look. But now, they stared at her because she was beautiful and she knew she was going to enjoy her new life as the "Goddess of Broken Hearts". Or at least she thought...

A Few Days Later...

Mr. Tsukino kept on looking at his daughter in his review mirror. They were heading towards her new school, and he STILL couldn't get use to how much his daughter changed. One minute he was sitting in his favorite chair reading a newspaper, and then another minute, after a quick glance at his daughter, he found himself smack on the floor. After much persuasion from his lovely wife, he finally allowed his daughter to keep her new look.

Thankfully, the school only allowed their students to wear uniforms. So he didn't have to worry much about her new "clothes" that she had recently bought at the mall. She didn't like the whole uniform policy though, since she had bought all of those clothes for nothing. But she brightened up when he mentioned that there was going to be a ball so that the hospital (AN: Usagi's dad is a doctor..forgot to mention it..^.^') could get a little bit of money to help build an extra section to the hospital.

He noticed Usagi fidgeting in her seat and clutching her books to her chest, as she stared out of the window. He didn't know all of the going-on's that happened to her in her old school, so he just presumed that she was just nervous. "Don't worry, dear. Everything will be ok." he said smiling and trying to sound positive. She just gave him a strained smile, as he pulled into the parking lot of her new school, Juuban High.

"Knock em' dead, kiddo!" Her father said with a wink, and in a flash, he left towards the hospital. She sighed and gulped as she took in the size of her new school. She had to admit that her school uniform was a bit comfortable, but she didn't think that she looked right in it. She had a plain white shirt and a short blue skirt that complimented the color of her eyes. Her hair was still curly, and it was only a mere inch away from the ground.

Taking a deep breath, she slowly made her way into the building, silently hoping that she would be accepted for the first time in her life. But she immediately regretted walking in. For once she stepped in, the halls all of a sudden went silent and a memory of her old school flashed into her mind. She gasped as her eyes came in contact with the most breathtakingly deepest, bluest pair of eyes. She felt as if she were drowning in them, and that if she didn't look away anytime soon, she would just stop breathing altogether!

She was the first to look away as she fixed her attention to her surroundings. With a weak smile, she looked at her schedule that her shaking hands were holding and walked towards her locker, and with that one smile, she changed the world of Chiba Mamoru...forever.

Mamoru's POV:

Mamoru leaned against his locker, once again swarmed by girls that made up more then half of the school's population. He gave them his most charming smile, which showed off his pearly whites. This only caused dreamy sighs from the group of girls as they squealed and fluttered their eyelashes. He tried to push his way out of the crowd, trying to get to his class, but the girls took it as a sign that he wanted them even more and was just playing hard to get.

One girl in particular, clung to his arm and glowered at the rest of the girls who tried to touch him as they slowly backed away. She had flaming red hair and tried to push her shirt down a bit more to show a bit more of her cleavage. This only made Mamoru scowl as he tried to pry her remarkably strong grasp on his arm. This only got a strangled giggle out of her as she clung to him and tried to push her breasts to his chest in a sickingly, seductive way.

What he didn't notice, however, was the sudden stillness in the hallway as guys and girls alike stopped what they were doing to stare at whatever or whomever it was at the door. Even the annoying red-head that was still unconsciously clinging to him, stopped hitting on him as she too was distracted by whatever it was they were staring at.

And that's when he saw her. He had to blink many times, for he thought that his mind was playing tricks on him by making him think that he was seeing a Goddess. But looking at the reactions of the many gaping guys who, too, had the same expression that he could only guess was plastered on his handsome features, told him that this was fortunately NOT a dream.

Her long, golden - almost silverish - looking tendrils seemed to almost touch the ground. Since it was still morning, the still rising sun's rays bounced off of her hair which seemed to make her glow. He could hint out her ravishing curves beneath the school uniform that seemed to stick to her, embracing...worshiping, her divine body. Even in a uniform, she still looked good.

Finally her eyes settled on him. His heart seemed to miss a beat as he - all of a sudden - needed to adjust his shirt collar. 'Is it just me...or is it getting hotter in here?' He thought to himself. He could feel his palms getting sweatier by the second as those fabulous, sky-blue eyes bore into him. But she turned her head away as quickly as they had made contact. Part of him was disappointed, because he could've stayed that way forever. But the bigger part of him was relieved. No girl ever made him feel that way, and with a mischievous smile, he promised himself there and then that he would have her. No matter what.

* = * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * = * =

Usagi darted her eyes this way and that, as she threw everyone the most confident smile she could muster. 'Remember...you're a seductress. Not a geek. A heart-breaker...' her inside voices were trying to encourage her as she walked towards her locker, making sure she swayed her hips. This seemed to work as every guy cleared out of her way, which gave her the impression of being Moses and separating the river to get the slaves to sanctuary...which in this case was her locker.
With a trembling hand, she turned her combination and put a few notebooks into her locker.

Closing it, she turned around, only to come face-to-face with the same stormy, blue eyes she had seemingly been hypnotized by. His hands rested on the locker, trapping her head between them causing one hand to be on either side of her head as he drew his face closer and closer to her's. Her breathing suddenly became uneven.

'Oh my God! He's going to kiss me!'
'Don't deny it. You WANT him to kiss you.'
'I do NOT! I don't even know the guy...much less LIKE him!'
'Liar...'

She was struggling to win a battle that was going on inside of her head...but obviously she was losing...BIG time.

She gave out a startled gasp, or was it a disappointed gasp (?) ...when he abruptly moved away from her as if being close to her had just set him on fire. With one of his charming smiles that could easily melt a woman's heart he said, "I think I'm going to enjoy this day my beautiful Goddess. Until next time..." Bowing down, he kissed her hand and walked away.

Still plastered against the lockers, she stroked the hand he had just recently kissed. She felt as if she was on fire, but at the same time a cold shiver ran down her spine. Groaning in frustration since the bell rang signaling that they only had 5 more minutes to get to class, she ran towards her first period.

Once inside, a middle-aged woman who must of been at one point very attractive, smiled warmly at the new student as she gestured her towards an empty seat behind a blue-haired girl.

"Coincidentally", all the guys had seats around her own, as every other girl was off to the other side of the room, surrounding the rude but VERY attractive man who had kissed her hand earlier on. ALL of the girls, however, except for 4 of them who was sitting near the blue-haired girl.

The blue-haired girl was reading a book as she ignored the little chit chat that her comrades were having. Another one seemed to be tall with brown hair that was held in a high ponytail. Although she was sitting down, Usagi could've sworn that if she stood next to this amazon-looking girl, she would STILL be taller. Another girl had raven black hair...almost purple-ish looking...and fiery, violet eyes. While the fourth girl looked amazingly like her, with the exception of the big red bow she wore and the length of their hair, in which Usagi's was by far longer.

The blonde signaled her over with a friendly smile, as Usagi took her seat behind the blue-haired girl. "Hi! My name's Minako! She's Rei, and that's Makoto. And the girl that you are sitting behind is Ami." she introduced. All of them gave her a warm grin as Usagi couldn't help but to just smile back.

"So you're the new "Goddess", eh?" said Rei. "I can see why. You're absolutely gorgeous!" the brunette, Makato, commented. Usagi could only blush and mumble a thank you.

But the little conversation came to an end as every single guy came up to her and threw her so many questions all at the same time, that she couldn't keep up with any of them.

"Wow! You're even more beautiful close up!"
"Can I have your number?"
"How can you keep your hair so long and yet healthy?"
"Will you be my girlfriend?!"
"Can I have your number?"
"What school did you come from?"
"Do you have a boyfriend?"
"Can I have your number?"
"Do you like it here?"
"Will you be my date for the upcoming ball?"
"Can I have your number?"
And so on...

Eventually they cleared out as a certain blue-eyed stranger walked up towards her with a cocky grin. His jet-black hair only helped to emphasize those good-looking eyes of his as she all of a sudden twisted around in her seat.

"Name's Chiba Mamoru." "Tsukino Usagi." she said simply avoiding his eyes. Her four new friends could only giggle. One of them decided to have mercy on her as she cut in, "Hello Mamoru. I think your little fan club over there is getting overly jealous and impatient. I suggest you go back to them before that Beryl decides to make an all out war. Usagi will be perfectly fine with us and her rapidly developing fan club." Minako, Makoto, and Rei could only blink since they never would've imagined their little sweet Ami to talk in such a way.

With a raised brow, Mamoru returned to his seat, but not before winking at Usagi. This only caused him to receive murderous glares from the guys and dagger-like glances from the girls to Usagi. "Ok class. Please take out your Chemistry books and turn to page 187 and finish the reviews that I had assigned you yesterday. But before I get ahead of myself, I'd like you all to give a warm welcome to our new student..." pausing to look at her role she smiled and continued, "...Tsukino Usagi."

She received mumbled welcomes from the girls and cheery, flirtatious hello's from the guys. Her four new friends smiled and said their cheerful welcomes as well. "Another thing, since she is new here, I doubt she will know her way around school. So who will volunteer to guide her around?" And before any of her friends could raise their hands, the teacher smiled and pointed to Mamoru who had his hand raised with a smirk.

"Thank you for volunteering Mr. Chiba. Now, I just received news about the upcoming ball next weekend. It's for a good cause to help St. Lawrence Hospital add an extra building and they need all the help they can get. So I encourage all of you to go. Now class...begin your work."

!* 45 Minutes Later *!

As the class filed out of the classroom for their next class, Mamoru took Usagi's hand in his and led her to her American Government class that her four friends had along with her. But before she walked in, he grabbed her hand and turned her around kissing her roughly on her lips. She didn't struggle for she was a bit confused and it happened so fast she didn't have time to react. But soon his rough kisses turned into sweet, little nibbles as she relaxed against him and sighed. But at that moment he let go of her and winked. "There's more where that came from my little "Goddess". I'll meet you here after the bell rings to escort you to your next class."

Usagi had already regained her composure as she stood up straight and held her head up in a dignified way. "No need to Mr. Chiba. I'll have one of my FRIENDS show me around," and with that she walked into her class, slamming the door on a startled Mamoru.

As the bell rang, indicating that it was time for lunch, Usagi walked with her new friends to the lunch room. Once again, her enchanting spell stopped everyone dead in their tracks. One even had his fanny in mid-air! { AN : And for all of you sickos out there, this guy was in the process of sitting down :̃ }

Little murmurs were coming from the girls since news traveled fast in this school. The whole school already knew about her rejection of the "high-school sweetheart" which only gained respect and more flirtatious hits from the guys toward Usagi. Almost every single girl in that school thought that she had lost her mind for declining such a handsome rascal like Mamoru, but they didn't care for it just gave them their chance to try to get with him. Each and every one of them secretly hoped that he would ask one of them out to the upcoming ball.

Mamoru was once again surrounded by his fan club. But he ignored them, since his eyes were transfixed on the beauty that had actually turned him down. Usually, girls would do anything just to have him smile down at them...but this one didn't even want him around! This only made him want to try harder to win her heart as he vowed to himself that she would be his...and only his. With that in his mind, he smiled and turned to his best friend Motoki.

Motoki just sat there with his arms crossed in front of his chest, his eyes glinting with mischief as he smirked knowingly at his long time friend. "Well, well, well ... it seems like our Mamoru here has actually fallen ... and I mean hard. You have the hots for this girl ... which I can't exactly blame you ... since practically every guy is surrounding her table right now asking her to go out with them to the ball."

At this comment, Mamoru's attention snapped towards what seemed to be another fan club, which only this time, consisted of ALL of the boys in the school. And wouldn't you know? Usagi was the center of it all. He gritted his teeth as he cheerfully imagined beating the shit out of the guys. Motoki leaned closer towards Mamoru's ear, "If I were you ... I'd go over there, claim her, and then DEMAND that she go to the ball with you." he whispered. Mamoru merely nodded, and stood up. Motoki could only open and close his mouth ... giving Mamoru the impression of a fish. "B ... but ... but ... It was just a joke Mamo..." but before he could finish, Mamoru already left.

Usagi could only sigh as she looked at her new friends for help. But they only shrugged, since this was all new to them and they didn't have the faintest idea on how to help out. Usagi scowled at the many guys surrounding her, but even that scowl made one of them leap for joy. She was really getting irritated because she knew that if she hadn't changed her look, these guys would be spitting in her face instead of worshiping the ground she walked on. Not being able to take it anymore, she picked up some of her mash potatoes and was about to smash it into the next boy who asked her for her phone number and laugh joyfully in his face, till she was "magically" lifted from her seat and swept outside.

Once outside, Usagi looked up to her "kidnapper" and wasn't in the least bit surprised when blue came crashing with blue. With a sigh, she struggled to get down, but this only made him hold her tighter. He had a cocky smile on his face which only made her even more infuriated! If she didn't know any better, she could've sworn that he was enjoying the privilege to hold her...much less touch her! Mocking his grin, she took the mashed potatoes that was still in her hand and covered his whole face with it.

With a shocked gasp, he practically dropped her, which only made Usagi cling to his shoulder and hold on for all she was worth. In an instant, the turn tables switched back to him...and now he was back in control. With that infuriating grin of his he stood there enjoying her desperate hold on him. Usually he would've tried to get any girl off of him if they were holding onto him like she was. But he quite enjoyed this and he wasn't going to help her anytime soon.

But unfortunately he didn't notice her desperate struggles cease. Nor did he notice that she had brought up her knee until she kicked him in the you know. { AN : don't worry folks...she didn't kick him THAT hard.. :D! I love Mamoru and I wouldn't do anything to hurt him....*angelic expression* }

][ !* Censored *! ][

With a slight smile tugging on her lips, she walked back into the cafeteria, ignoring all of the surprised stares that she was getting since the whole school saw the whole thing. Even the girl's were starting to admire her, for no one could get past his devilish charms. Everyone but Beryl that is. She sat in the popular table and tried to get everyone else to despise her...but to no avail.

Some of Beryl's "friends" were yelling towards her competitor for Mamoru, asking her if she'd like to sit with them. But with a slight smile, Usagi merely shook her head and sat down with her friends; the first girls who talked to her and accepted her for who she was.

"You shouldn't have done that Usagi! It's just cruel kicking a guy in his most * blush * sensitive spot!" cried Raye as she stole glances every now and then to see how Mamoru was faring. He was now surrounded by a group of guys that were trying to help him get up off the ground.

This caused Makoto to laugh, "Seems like I'm not the only "bully" around here. I've never done anything *that* worse before. Hm...I think me and you are going to get along just fine ..." At this comment everyone laughed.

!* Back in Class ... *!

Usagi sat down with an angelic smile on her face as she glanced at the empty seat beside her. Minako was still laughing. She couldn't stop laughing, and if the teacher gave her a menacing look, this only caused her to laugh even louder. Ami sweat dropped as she tried to hush her friend down.

But this wasn't needed since the whole class hushed down when Mamoru walked in. Closing the door behind him, he walked towards his desk. After he sat down, a whoop of laughter escaped one of the guys in the back, and soon the whole class was laughing. They weren't laughing because he had gotten beat down by a girl, not to mention turned down as well ... although that WAS pretty funny. But they were mostly laughing because when he walked, it seemed like he had a wedgy!

With a groan, he slumped down in his chair and threw Usagi an intimidating look. She merely batted her eyelashes at him, giving him a sugary smile as she turned her attention back to her work.

After school ended, Usagi walked home and let her friends inside. They were going to go shopping for the ball and Usagi knew that her mom would be more then glad to drop them off at the mall. Usagi turned around and noticed that her friends were just awestruck as they stared at their surroundings. Usagi couldn't fault them since she reacted pretty much the same way when she first saw her house.

The house wasn't huge, but it was exquisite. It had been painted in an intricate manner that one usually saw only on brochures put out by paint companies. The whole house was surrounded by a porch, as it seemed to envelope it. There was only one balcony, and Usagi, luckily, occupied that room. But inside the house...it was even better. Persian rugs and antiques were scattered everywhere. Overly stuffed, but comfortable couches lined the living room. A big, stone fireplace took up the remaining space and pictures of loved ones were hung about beside it. But the kitchen was even better. Stainless steel stove, refrigerator, microwave...about any type of kitchen appliance was stainless steel. A huge kitchen island with a marble counter top and maple colored wood was lovingly admired. All of the cabinets were maple wood and Usagi and her friends could only take in the beauty of it all.

"What ... are you beautiful AND rich?!" inquired Rei.
Usagi could only giggle, "My father is a doctor." and left it at that.

Her mother then walked in, as she smiled lovingly at her daughter, "Usagi, who are these friends of yours?" She had an apron wrapped around her curved hips and was holding a wooden spoon in one hand and had an oven mitt in her other hand. Usagi introduced them as her mother took out her freshly baked cookies out of the oven.

Immediately Usagi's mouth watered as she drooled longingly at the chocolate chip cookies. { AN : *sniffles* I'm hungry! Leave me alone! *sniffle* } Usagi in no time put four different cookies into her mouth and ate them with slight mumbles of "tank yoo" to her mother. Her friends could only stare. They didn't know how a beauty like this who ATE like this could keep up with her figure. Seeing her stuff her face, seemed to break the tension as they all laughed and ate.

"Now ... who's ready to go to the mall say aye!!" squealed her mother like a hyper teenager, as everyone laughed and raised their hands.

"AYE!" they said in unison as they all raised their hands.

But in doing that, Minako knocked down the plate with cookies, thus sending them flying in the air, landing on a VERY surprised Mrs. Tsukino.

*sweatdrop*

"Minako!!" they all yelled!

"I DIDN'T DO IT!!"

!* Meanwhile...at the Mall *!

"OOOO! How does this look on me? Is it too good or is it too good?" exclaimed an overly hyper Minako as everyone laid exhausted on a nearby chair and not really paying a whole lot of attention to her as she twirled around in the eighty-seventh dress she put on { but hey!...who's counting? *sweatdrops* }. Everyone merely sweatdropped since they had been there for the last four hours reassuring her that every single dress that she had tried on looked perfect on her.

"For the last time, Minako, it looks good on you. Now will you PULEASE hurry up and choose something! The ball is tonight and we still need to get ready, hire a limo, and everything else!" cried Makoto as she pounded her head against the wall with annoyance and frustration.

Minako frowned as she watched her friend whack her head against the wall, "But...but..I don't want it to look GOOD on me! I want it to look STUNNING, DAINTY, GORGEOUS, LOVELY, and all of those other great stuff on me!" she said patiently, as if explaining to a child on how they should set the table.

Ami just sighed, "Well in concordance to my calculations, 1/3 of the apparels that you have just recently tried on were repulsing beyond reasoning and the first 29 outfits looked impeccably exquisite upon your person."

Everyone fell to the floor with sweatdrops. Minako merely scratched her head in confusion, "Huh?!"

Rei just muttered, "Eh...in other words...the first few dresses looked better on you."

It was Ami's turn to sweatdrop. "Isn't that what I just said?"

!* Two Hours Later *!

"Gee! I should've trusted my instincts, huh guys? Who would've known that the VERY FIRST dress that I had tried on to begin with was the most stunning on me?!?" Everyone could only groan as they suppressed the tempting thoughts going on in their heads, which consisted of choking the living life out of a certain red-bowed blonde.

"Who wants to go to the food court? All of this shopping is making me hungry again, and besides, my mom won't be here for another hour or so to pick us up." Usagi said as she headed towards the food court, not even waiting for a reply. "Yeah, just as long as you don't ask us to say 'aye'." Rei mumbled as she sent a wary glance towards Minako who heard her and yelled out, "AYE!" while raising her hand.

By doing THIS, she thwapped Ami in the forehead, which caused her to lose her balance and fall on Rei, which caused her to lose HER balance, who fell on Makoto and caused her to fall down bringing a few dozen or so of unfortunate by-standers along with them.

"I DIDN'T DO IT!"

Usagi came rushing back and when she saw the laid out scene of people groaning and trying to stand back up, she sweatdropped and glared at Minako who was grinning sheepishly and doing a very sour job in looking innocent. "Er...on second thought...maybe I should just call my mom and ask her to pick us up."

!* Usagi's Bedroom *!

"Hm...might as well get ready now," Usagi muttered to no one in particular as she took out her ball gown out of the shopping bag and laid it down with extra care on her bunny printed bed sheets. Her mom had just minutes ago dropped off each of the girls at their house so that they could get ready. She was now occupied in hiring two separate limousines; one for the girls and one for Usagi's mom and dad. Shingo was going to sleep over a friend's house since he didn't really want to attend a boring ball with "old" people.

Usagi admired the dress that laid out on her bed. It was VERY expensive and she knew that it was going to take her a long time to pay it off. But looking at the dress, she smiled knowing that it was worth it. It was pure white with a transparent, peach shawl that she was to put on her back and hold by carrying it on her arms. It was an off the shoulder kind of dress with a dropped waist that started just below the natural waistline, and dipped in the center creating a V-shape. It had a royal train, which rather then attaching to the waist, it attached to the top of her dress leaving a trail of 3 yards to sweep the floor.

A detailed, stunning handbag, made from the finest Blush silk with an elegant crystal detailing and double fringing accompanied her dress. A perfect accompaniment for when she would need her lipstick and compact at a moments notice. She also had white gloves that went all the way up the elbows and if the light hit it just right, you could see the glitters shimmer.

With a joyous squeal, she slipped on her dress and the gloves. Turning around to face the full-length mirror, she gasped. For there standing in front of her was a TOTALLY different Usagi. Taking her hair out of its traditional buns, she went into the bathroom, undertaking the long, grueling task of curling it again.

Thirty minutes later, she slipped her feet into her white high heeled shoes and did the finishing touches which was to add a dab of make up. She didn't want to go overboard, so she just applied lip gloss and mascara to give off an illusion that she had thick lashes. She had her hair down in curls with little white flowers attached here, there, and everywhere. The soft tendrils framed her face giving anyone who set eyes upon her the figment of an angel. She beamed, liking what she saw and at that moment she heard a car honk outside.

Sticking her head out the window, she grinned seeing a black limousine and her friends getting out. Grabbing her handbag from off her bed, she rushed down the stairs, but was halted by her father when he thrust a black box at her. "Open it." was all he said as he grinned slyly. He was dressed in a black tuxedo and was holding a black, feathery mask. Opening it, she gasped seeing a set of diamond earrings and a necklace. Taking the earrings she quickly put them on, as her dad put the necklace on her.

"You look absolutely wonderful," he said as he hugged her. Her mom then came out of the kitchen wearing a black dress and was wearing a black, feathery mask as well. "Usagi, dear, don't forget your mask. I assumed that you and your friends didn't know that this was going to be a masquerade ball so I got each of you a mask. Here's your's." Taking out a white mask she slipped it on her daughter. It was beautiful with little jewels and white feathers that accented her dress very well.

Her friends then came barging in, each wearing beautiful dresses almost similar to Usagi's except not as elegant and different colors. Rei was wearing a red dress, Minako yellow and orange, green for Makoto, and finally Ami with a blue one. They were all chattering at the same time, until they set their eyes upon Usagi and gasped.

"Wow! You look positively beautiful!" Minako gushed.

"I agree! You're going to knock em all dead! Literally speaking..." said Makoto with a wink.

"Definitely! Oh and thanks for the mask Mrs. Tsukino," Rei added as Usagi's mom gave them their own masks that matched their dresses.
"Yes. And the gown appears like it was fabricated with meticulousness { AN : for all of you who don't know what that word means ... its another word for care } and devotion. Look at the intricate and elaborate phenomenons { AN : patterns *sweatdrops* } upon the shawl, train, and predominantly the handbag! Absolutely ingenious!" and of course that came from Ami as everyone sweatdropped.

"Er...thanks Ami...I think. Now come on! Let's go rock that ball!" Usagi shrieked with excitement as everyone else piled behind her. Waving to her mom and dad who were going to leave once THEIR limo arrived, they were off.

!* In The Limo *!

"Too bad we had to go to the ball dateless..." Usagi muttered whilst looking out the dark, tinted window of the limousine.

"What are you talking about Usa-chan?!? You could of had any of the guys at school, but you turned them all down," Rei said as she turned on the mini colored tv.

With her arms behind her head, Makoto added, "She's right. What I don't get is why you turned down that Chiba. He was a catcher!"

"Because for starters, he was a pompous, arrogant, self-centered..." but before Usagi could go on, Minako squealed.

Pushing a button down, the car window rolled down with ease as she pointed to a huge mansion in the distance with many other limousines already over there. Bright lights and loud laughter could already be heard from where they were, and they were pretty far away, considering they were just entering the two golden gates. "WOW!! Look at that!! It's absolutely beautiful!" Minako cried, putting her mask on.

Usagi and her friends faces were glued to the windows of the limo, as it drove through the towering golden gates at the end of the drive. "I can't believe we're actually going to see this place!" Minako exclaimed as the car pulled through on both sides of the long drive that had carefully tended gardens stretched as far as the eye could see. And there, on the hill in the distance, the mansion stood shining silvery white, with the full bright moon as its backdrop placed above in the midnight sky. { AN : I do not take credit to this paragraph! I was helped generously by Susan a.k.a Sugargurl! *huggles* Please read her stories! They're so good!! Visit it sometime plz! ^-^}

Just when Minako was about to open the limo door, the chauffeur got out and opened it. A red carpet was laid out in front of them as Minako grabbed her purse and got out. She was followed suite by the rest of the gang who looked around in wonder. With nervous giggles, they walked up the large steps towards the entrance of the mansion. A small, midget-like man stood next to the door. His head was held up and he wore a red bell-hop looking uniform. With a bow, he opened the door to them and they were soon blinded by the immense bright light that welcomed them.

Once their eyes became adjusted to the light, they gasped in complete wonder. There were already many people in the ball room either dancing, standing around, or eating. To the far right, a band was playing a lively tune and above it all, an enormous crystal chandelier hung on the beautiful elaborate ceiling. Walking down the massive stairs they were surprised when another short man introduced them to the crowd below.

"Introducing Miss Tsukino Usagi! And her court: Hino Rei, Mizuno Ami, Kino Makoto, and the lovely Aino Minako!" They could only stare at the man who introduced them, wondering how he could of had possibly known their names! Shrugging the matter aside, they grinned at each other and gave the man one last look who winked at them knowingly.

Adjusting their masks, they smiled and proceeded to walk down the stairs. Once they were at the bottom of the stairs, Usagi stopped, feeling as if she was being watched. Turning her head back slowly, blue came crashing with blue for the second time that day and she felt her knees give out below her. Hearing laughter coming from her friends, she darted her eyes towards her friends who were being led with handsome looking men to the dance floor.
One seemed to have blonde hair and seemingly blue eyes beneath his mask as he led a blushing Rei to the dance floor.
Another had long, silverish - looking hair, a lean and handsome looking fellow who swept Minako to a dance.
A tall, wavy brown haired man, towered over Makato leading her towards the floor.
And lastly, a dirty blonde man who's hair was pulled back and tied, with dancing and confident green eyes followed suit as he offered an arm to a crimson Ami.
Smiling and silently wishing her friends luck, she turned back to the "mysterious" man, only to let out a disappointed sigh seeing that he had left.

'Great! I finally meet someone I might not mind spending the rest of the night with and what happens?!' With another sigh she said aloud, "He disappears."

"I need a drink." she said to herself and made her way towards the punch table, ignoring all of the men who stopped to gape at her.

But what she didn't see, was the same blue - eyed "stranger" watching her from the shadows. "Usako..."

!* Mamoru's POV: *!

He was once again surrounded by cooing girls as they rubbed their bodies against him asking him if he was ok and offering to take his mind off the "pain". He was really starting to get irritated by all of these "worried" women surrounding him as he shoved his way out of their little group. He was about to leave when a certain red-haired hoe grabbed his arm and pulled him towards her.

"Hey there handsome! What do you say we get away from all of this and come to my apartment? I'll show you a real good time." Came the raspy, purring woman in his arms as she rubbed her hands up and down his back. He scowled, "Beryl." If her voice didn't give her away, her outfit sure did. Even at a formal ball, she still had the ability to wear something that showed off some skin.

She purred, "Miss me?" He smirked, "Far from it." She tensed and it seemed like she was about to slap him until she mocked the smirk on his face and continued her overly flirtatious acts towards him. "Ah...playing hard to get. I love that in a man."
"Well then find yourself another man, cause I apparently ain't interested." shoving her off of him, he disappeared into the crowd, leaving a VERY angry Beryl behind him. "I WILL have you Chiba Mamoru. And if I can't have you, then NO ONE will." With that said, she stomped away.

Mamoru sighed. This ball was a COMPLETE bore. He still couldn't fathom on how he had allowed Motoki to talk him into going to the ball.

*FLASHBACK*

"Come on dude!! You can't let one girl who turned you down stop you from going to the ball! *Sweatdrops* Although she did kick you in your most sensitive spot, not to mention in front of the school, and then get laughed at for walking like you had a wedgy...even though that WAS pretty funny and oh not to mention......."

"ALRIGHT ALREADY!! I GET THE POINT!!" yelled Mamoru from his sitting position on the couch. They were in his apartment, with Motoki already ready and dressed while Mamoru had his head back and was holding an ice pack to his violated weeny { AN : LOLz!!!!!! }, his face disoriented with obvious pain. "Wait till I get my hands on her! I'll KILL her!" he said through clenched teeth.

'Who are you kidding lover boy! Once you set your eyes on her, you're just going to kiss her senseless!'
'You're not doing a great job in making me feel better! And...HEY...who's side are you on anyway? Me or her?'
'Hm...that's a toughy...but I'll have to say HER!'
'Traitor!'

Wincing with pain, he stood up and threw the melting pack in his kitchen sink. "I'm not going Motoki! And you know that you can't make me!"

*END OF FLASHBACK*

"Argh! How does Motoki talk me into these things?!?"

Just then a certain "Goddess" caught his attention. She was with her usual group of friends, and his anger towards her quickly dissipated when he took one look at her.

'Told you!'
'Do you have to rub it in?'
'Of course..'

He stood in the corner, where the shadows engulfed him, and watched her go down the stairs. Stunning couldn't describe how she looked this evening. The long train on her dress swept the floor behind her, as well as her hair which seemed to act like a second train. A white, feathery mask covered most of her upper features, but he could glimpse those luscious lips and those big cerulean eyes behind the mask. He looked around him, and frowned seeing that he wasn't the only one who stopped whatever it was that they were doing to stare at "his" beauty.

'Whoa! Where'd that come from? YOURS? She can't even stand the SIGHT of you!'
'You're lucky your only the voice inside of my head! I wouldn't mind throwing a few punches or two are you right about now.'
'OOOO! I'm so scared! Quiver...quiver...'

As she stopped at the bottom of the stairs, he sneaked up behind her and was about to ask her to dance, before she turned around and blue came crashing with blue. All thoughts left his head as he just stood there, transfixed and oblivious to his surroundings. He saw her turn momentarily to watch her friends being swept away by swooning men. That was his cue to leave as he slipped back into the shadowed corner. When she turned back around, he saw her sigh with...disappointment?! No...it couldn't be. He watched her go to the punch table, his shoulders hunched forward in defeat.

"Usako..."

Finally getting his cool back together, he pushed himself away from the wall and was about to walk up to her to once again ask her to dance until Beryl came up to him with a mischievous grin.

Taking his head in her hands she smashed her lips to his for a "passionate" kiss. "WHAT THE HE....?!!?!" After the kiss, Beryl looked up to him with a starry gaze. He felt repulsed and dirty as he wiped his mouth. Pushing her away from him he gasped seeing a flabbergasted Usagi. Her glass dropped from her hands and landed on the floor. It seemed to echo in his ears.

"Usagi..." But before he could say anything else, she broke into a run towards the gardens. But not before he saw the tears that escaped from her eyes. The sight of those tears twisted his heart as he ran after her. But before he could, a scowling Beryl grabbed hold of his arm once again as she pulled him towards her.

"She's not good enough for you! Now I'm a different story Mamoru. Stay with me and I'll show you a good time but if you leave now I'll make sure that she'll pay for your action!"

He was totally disgusted. Jerking his arm from her grasp he towered over her, "Touch one finger on Usagi and I'll come after you myself." He then ran after his Usagi.

But he made a HUGE mistake. "So...he's fallen for the goody-goody new girl has he? We'll just see about that." Beryl snarled.
