I had a dream that someone placed in my hands a picture of the cosmos A living constellation revealed, a possible destiny set and laid before me.Inspired, I sculpted a place in my eternity for him, my dream visitor, And when your shadow fell across it, I knew it was for you- you had come. I carve infinity signs in the air as I wait for you to replace your shadow. I want you to recognise my gift to you- a clear vision to my soul. My body has your name written upon it and I am indelibly tattooed With an invisible, intricate tapestry of our shared words and moments. Our own secret universe waits, poised- a universe that cradles our forever. Forever is what comes to mind with you, this immutable distance divides us now. In that forever waits a future, contemplating our creation of it that will uncurl to become Our shared present moments, each petal a changing destination of our choosing. I want to feel your heartbeat on my skin as you cradle me, pressed against me. I try to hold your shadow, disbelieving the cold truth of your present absence. How long does a moment last? Until the next moment. What is forever made of? Infinite time, space and possibility. By Elouise. |
