| Goddess Phases of the Moon |
| Each phase of the moon has aspects that reflect the various aspects of women and of the Goddess herself. Many goddess' of the moon are also part of a goddess trio, the Maiden/new moon, Mother/full moon, and Crone/dark moon. Each phase of the moon can bring these various aspect to the surface in our lives. We can focus in on these phases and follow them just as we natrauly follow our own menstrual or creative cycles. They can help us centre, bring us back to a cyclical way of life, which in turn brings us closer to the natural rhythms of life that are circling all around us. Here is a list of the three main phases of the moon and their aspects, energies, and magicks. |
| WAXING MOON Time: From new moon to full moon Goddess Aspect: Maiden Goddess: Artemis, Branwen, Eriu, Nymph, Epona Magick: Invoking, beginings, new projects, ideas, inspiration, energy, vitality, freedom, friendship, luck. FULL MOON Time: Energy lasts three days before to three days after the actual full moon Goddess Aspect: Mother Goddess: Danu, Cerridwen, Gaia, Ahprodite, Isis Magick: Frutition, manifesting, nurturing, passion, healing, strength, power. WANNING MOON Time: From full moon to dark/new moon Goddess Aspect: Crone Goddess: Callieach, Banshee, Hecate, Kali, Morrigan Magick: Banishing, releasing, removing unwanted energies, wisdom, psychic abilities, scrying, reversing. |

| WAXING MOON Time: Day 1 to 13 INVOKING, beginings, new projects, ideas, inspiration, energy, vitality, freedom, friendship, luck. Waxing Cresent Time: Day 1 to 7 Magick for protection of animals, bring change, help with business. Waxing Gibbous Time: Day 7 to 13 Magick for great increase, to grant pateints, growth, harmony. FULL MOON Time: Day 14 FRUITION, manifesting goals, nuturing, passion, healing, strength, power. WANNING MOON Time: Day 15 to 29 BANISHING, releasing the old, removing negative energy, wisdom, psychic ability, scrying, reversing circustances. Wanning Gibbous Time: Day 15 to 20 Magick for diminishing addictions, reduce stress, help through divorce. Wanning Cresent Time: Day 21 to 29 Magick to remove obstacles, fights/arguments, pain, to stop criminals. NEW MOON Time: Day 29 GREAT BANISHMENT, binding, removal of pain, intolerance, injustice. |
| MOON DAYS OF THE GODDESS As the moon moves from waxing to wanning her energies change. Every couple of days her energies allign themselves with a different goddess energy. Following is moon calendar, with a new goddess emerging every couple of days. Days 1-3 Dedicated to Persephone, the initiator Days 4-6 Ruled by Artemis, the independent one of the wilderness, the impetus behind the newly planted seed Days 7-9 Ruled by Kore, the maiden of menarche, the link between childhood and adulthood. Days 10-12 Ruled by Hera, queen of heaven and creatrix, representing the power of inspiration. Days 13-15 Demeter, the nurturer, is ruler. Days 16-18 Dedicated to Gaia, the Earth Goddess. Days 19-21 In these days the old woman of the wanning moon is Hestia, she is the matriarchal grandmother ruling and protecting her family. Days 22-24 Rules by Medusa, the terrible crone of death and spiritual release, the necessary destruction that allows a new cycle to begin. Days 25-27 Rules by Hecate, queen of the underworld and tha shades, she is seen as the one who allows souls to choose their path in the next phase of existence and rebirth. Day 28-29 and 1/2 These remaining day are those of the unknowable Masked Goddess who is present but invisible. |
