There are 13 full moons every year. There is usualy a full moon every month, one month that has two full moons(this 13th moon is usualy refered to as a blue moon) As we move through the year each month lends it's own energies to that of the full moon. The changing energies of the yearly seasons affect the energies of the moon as well. Different moons (and months) are good for different types of magick and rituals. Following is a list of the months, the various names of the full moon that fall in those months, and some info and ideas about the various energies for each moon. I have started this calander with the month of November because it marks the begining of the Pagan new year, and the begining of the yearly seasonal cycle. The first full moon of the year will fall in November. Enjoy and remeber to use your imagination Note: This calander is meant for the northern hemisphere. If you live in the southern hemisphere reverse the year around. IE: use the description for november in the month of may and go from there. |

November: Snow moon Other names: fog moon, dark moon, mourning moon, mad moon, beaver moon
As the first full moon of the pagan new year it is time to get rid of all the old habits of the previous year. Also a time to rid yourself of any negative thoughts and energies in your life. Do a water cleanings ritual, give away all those clothes you never wear, resolve to put away one negative habit for the coming year. |

December: Oak moon Other names: cold moon, wolf moon, Long Night's moon, big winter moon
A moon in the depth of winter, the hours of light are shortest of the year. Now is the time to review and revive your convictions and ideals. Do rituals to invite the sun back into your life. Write a list of your convictions and belifes, do they all still help and suport you in your life or have some of them stagnated? Are there plans and dreams that you have lost or pushed aside along the way that need to be looked at again? |

January: Wolf moon Other names: snow moon, quiet moon, moon of little winter, chaste moon
As the name says, now is the time that the wolves close in. This is a time when energies are running low, we are awaiting the rebirth of the goddess, waiting for spring. We need protective energies more than ever. Do family protection rituals, charge all doors and entraces of your house with protective light, stay in bed and read a book |

Febuary: Storm moon, Other names: ice moon, horning moon, hunger moon, wild moon, quickening moon, moon of big winter
In this month the first tentitive signs of spring emerge, the days getting longer, those first hints of green under the snow. Even though winter still holds sway in the land, we start to look ahead. We start to think about our future and what it holds for us. Do rituals to ask the Ancient Ones for guidance and help in planning and living your future. Make more concrete plans for your near future, start to think about the distant future. |

March: Seed moon Other names: chaste moon, strom moon, plow moon, sap moon, moon of winds, crow moon
In most places spring is the beginning to show herself to us, we feel ourselvees opening up to the new flowing energies. Spring cleaning is in order, both in the physical world and the spiritual. Clean your whole house from top to bottom, go outside and place both hands on the awakening earth, cleanse yourself with all of the four elements. |

April: Growing moon Other names: planting moon, budding tree moon, pink moon, green grass moon
A true beginning to spring, we emerge as children from the long winter. This is a time to go out and play, explore your childlike side. Look at pictures of yourself as a child or your own children, dance wildly around your house to your favorite music, in ritual talk to your inner-child (let them know they are loved), spend the day with you favorite child (or children). |

May: Hare moon Other names: merry moon, bright moon, flower moon, frogs return moon, joy moon
During the month of may we see fertility all around us. Animals are giving birth to their young, trees are in full bloom, and we are feeling the pull of the Great Dance ourselves. Be free and wild in your joy and celebrations. Bless and plant the seeds of your favorite herb or flower, spend a night in your lovers embrace, do a ritual involving the elements of water and earth. |

June: Dyad moon Other names: moon of horses, lover's moon, honey moon, stawberry moon, rose moon
The doors between the worlds are said to be the most open during this month. Faeries, elves and other creatures abound. This is also a time of fertility, but the connection becomes much deeper and intense than the carefree celebrations of the month of may. Walk in the deep woods to see the Little People (leave small offerings of milk or honey), talk to the trees and flowers, re-afirm your bonds of deep love. |

July: Hay moon Other names: mead moon, moon of claiming, blessing moon, buck moon, thunder moon
The month of July brings us to the harvest, the joys of abundance enter our lives. Many of the things we started at the begining of the yearly cycle are just now begining to flower. This is an excelent time to rejoice in the abundance of our lives, and make sure to share your joy with others as well. Go out and do something for yourself (a spa, that speacial sweet treat, or simply a bunch of flowers), gather a circle of friends and dance, chant and sing late into the night, do rituals dealing with the element of fire. |

August: Corn moon Other names: wort moon, dispute moon, cherry moon, barley moon, harvest moon
The height of the harvest, we begin to see the full manifestations of the seeds we planted in our lives at the beginning of the year. This is a good time to give thanks to the universe for the things that we have. Make a magickal feast of abundance to show thanks for you plenty (make sure you enjoy eating it), give something special away to a close friend (or perhaps a charity), gather the things you cherish close to you. |

September: Harvest moon Other names: wine moon, singing moon, wood moon, moon when deer paw the earth
We near the end of the harvest, fall begins to set in all around us. We start to wind down for the winter ahead, deep and hidden energies how hold sway. Now is the time to looker deeper into the world around you, to spend time contemplating. Make an apple pie to eat, explore the hidden and darker sides of yourself through ritual or though, go out and lay on the earth and watch the leaves fall from the trees. |

October: Blood moon Other names: shedding moon, harvest moon, falling leaf moon, ten colds moon, moon of season change
This is the last full moon of the pagan year. Now is the time to wrap things up before the new year begins. This is also a time to honor our ancestors and those who have passed on. Plan a dinner and set places for all the special people who have passed from this life, call up an old friend, research your ancestors and their stories and lives. |
