Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Hogwarts was originally founded by the four greatest wizards and witches of the time, Godrich Gryffindor, Salazar Slytherin, Helga Hufflepuff and Rowena Ravenclaw. As you can see their surnames formed the names of the houses within the school. The houses came about after the four founders disagreed on who should be admitted, Slytherin only wished pure blood wizards to be taught in Hogwarts, Gryffindor wanted the bravest wizards, Ravenclaw the smartest and Hufflepuff the loyal. |
