| Gryffindor This is the main house in Hogwarts due to Harry being in it. The founder was Godric Gryffindor who was extremely bold and brave, the symbol for Gryffindor is a lion. The official colour for Gryff is red and gold and they have the best Quidditch team there (biased!!) Other famous Gryffindors are : The older Weasley Family (Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred and George, Molly and Arthur) James Potter ( I think) and Minerva McGonagall (now Head of House!)(You forgot Oliver!). Their ghost is Nearly Headless Nick and their Common Room is on the 7th floor of Hogwarts. Lear also reckons that Albus Dumbledore was once a Gryffindor. |
| Ravenclaw This is a cool house, the founder being the beautiful Rowena Ravenclaw. The smart people are usually put in this house (but Hermione is the exception!) The official colour are Blue. Famous Ravenclaws are : Cho Chang (Harry's crush), the Head of House is Professor Flitwick, the Charms Master. Their Common Room is somewhere in the castle! Their ghost is the mysterious Grey Lady, who Harry encounters in the first book. |
| Hufflepuff Hufflepuffs are determined by their hard working, earnest nature. Professor Sprout, the Herbology teacher is the Head of House. Their Commmon Room is situated on the ground floor of Hogwarts, I reckon. A famous Hufflepuff is of course Cedric Diggory, (*sniffs*) who tragically died alonside Harry in book 4 by Voldemort (boooo) Their ghost is the Fat Friar! |
| Slytherin Salazar Slytherin founded this house. He was power hungry who eventually broke off from the other 3 after rows with Gryffindor. He built the Chamber of Secrets and kept a giant snake (Basilisk) down there. Voldemort is a famous Slytherin (and also the Heir of Slytherin) whilst at Hogwarts he was the clever Tom Riddle, who immortalised his 16 year old self in a diary, which got into the hands of Ginny Weasley and Harry (supplied by Lucius Malfoy) Malfoy Jr. (Draco) is a current Slytherin. Their Head of House is Severus Snape (Potions Master) and their ghost is the Bloody Baron. Their Quidditch team is 2nd best, losing to good ol' Gryffindor! Their Common Room is in the dungeons. |
