In order to join, I will need the following information:
Character Name:
Affiliation (see below):
Stats (see below):
The e-mail adress you will be using to play the game:
The city you want your character to start in:
Any pertinent information you may have on your character's identity, personality, life...etc...This is so I can get a better grasp on who your character is.
Stats are your characters proficiencies in certain areas and abilties. When you join, you have up to 12 points to distribute among these areas. Choose wisely, for they will affect how successful you are in attacks and events! Additionally, some affiliations allow you to add stat "bonuses", so look out for that as well.
Strength-your ammount of physical toughness
Weapon Skill-how well you can handle a weapon
Composure-how well you can keep a cool head in a panic situation
Intelligence-how smart you are and how intuitive you are
Affiliations
These represent the various groups of individuals you can play as. Pick carefully, as they all have both good and bad qualities. Note that all weapons a character starts out with has full ammo and is fully loaded.
S.T.A.R.S. : Originally the name granted to an elite police force based out of Raccoon City, this name has been adopted by a covert NGO whose aim is to destroy Umbrella and end their immoral operations. Headed by figures such as Leon Kennedy, Chris and Claire Redfield, and Jill Valentine, you are committed to cleansing the world of the threat of BOWS. Now that America has been stricken with mysterious outbreaks all over the nation, they have intensified their efforts. STARS members begin with an account of $1,000, a handgun, and three vials of Viral Anti-body. STARS members may place an extra stat point in any profiency they wish.
Umbrella Incorporated: The world's leading chemical manufacturer, their expansive profits have allowed them to branch out into the lucrative field of bio-organic weapons research. Unfortunately, their recklessness has led to numerous industrial accidents, culminating in the nation wide emergency that beseiges America today. Recently however, a shift in power has occured within the upper echelon's of Umbrella's management, and a new CEO calling herself Red Queen has seized control. She is believed responsible for the outbreaks in the United States. Whats more, Umbrella now has allied itself with the terrorist Novoya Regime. In choosing Umbrella, you sign on to be one of their highly trained shock troops. You start out with a Sub-machine gun and a $4,000 bank account. You may also add 1 to your strength or weapons skill. However, the orders bestowed upon you by the company are absolute and must be followed!
Rainbow Six: The most elite amongst America's military forces. You are a highly trained tool of the American government. Your goal is simple, clean up the cities and restore the nation back to its normal order. Due to the nature of this emergency however, HOW you go about it is quite secondary... Rainbow Six members start with a Sub-Machine gun, a $500 bank account, and add 2 to their strength and 2 to their weapon skill.
Novoya Regime: A Neo-Communist para-military group funded by ecentric Soviet billionaire Anton Novoya. You are to further the Novoya cause within the America's, using the viral outbreak to its fullest to sow the seeds of confusion. You act in conjunction with Umbrella Inc., but even the most closesly tied organizations can keep secrets from each other. You are fantically loyal to the Soviet cause and will do anything to convince the western world of the errs of its ways. (NOTE: You need not be Russian to play this role!). Novoya Regime members start with a $2,000 bank account and may add 2 to any stat they wish.
Travel
Each character can travel 1 mile per day on foot. However, if you find, purchase or start out with a car, that will drastically reduce your travel time.
Actions
This RPG will run 4 days a week: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I also update your status on these days. You can send one action a day and one action ONLY, and it must be in before 7 pm. If you send in more than one action, or try to jam two actions into one e-mail, NEITHER action will be accepted for that day. Also, actions sent on days that the RPG is not open will also not be accepted. Below is a description of the various actions:
Attack a Player Character-It is possible to ambush another character in the game. When you attack, it will be assumed that you will use all the items (weapons, healing, etc...) at your disposal to get the job done (meaning you can run yourself out of ammo, so choose who you attack carefully). In order to attack another player you must be in the same location as this character. You can not attack players who are in the middle of traveling, but you CAN attack players who are "investigating" a location (provided you are at the same location). These will be posted on the battles section. Also, you cannot attack someone if you are in the middle of traveling or investigating. In your attack request, tell me one thing (other than a car) that you wish to steal from that player should you be successful in your attack.
Traveling in cities-On foot, you can travel one mile per day (see travel page for various cities and the descriptions of locations within those cities). Once you start traveling to a location, you cannot stop, or head in another direction. You must arrive at your destination before you can travel to another location. If you wish to use your car to shorten your travel time, include that in your action. You can only use your car if it is at the same location you are. If its not, and you want to use it, you will have to travel back to the location where you left it (if its still there, heh heh heh). In your travel action, you must tell me how many days it will take you to travel to that location.
Traveling to/from cities-It is also possible to travel to different cities within the country! See the travel page for a listing of all the cities and how long it will take to travel from city to city. To travel to a new city, you must first venture to the Airport/Airstrip within your current city before you send in the travel action. If you want to take your vehicle with you to the next city, you must pay a fee of $500 and have the vehicle with you at the airstip/airport.
Investigate a location-This is probably the most innovative and fun form of action. On the travel page, you will see that each location has a number in parenthesis next to its name. This is the ammount of days it will take to search that location from top to bottom. In the course of your search, you can find anything from extra weapons, ammo, money, even cars! However, it is also at this time that you can be attacked by monsters and take damage. When you are searching, you will want to check the events page periodically to see if you are attacked by any monsters and to see what the results of this attack is. Also, if in the course of your search you find anything especially interesting it will also be included in the events section. Also, if more than one person is searching at the same time in the same place, it is possible to find different things. And, just because a place was searched from top to bottom does NOT mean there is nothing left there. It is completely possible for two people to search a place top to bottom and they each will find things. Like travel, you must finish searching a place before stopping that search or performing another action. And, like player actions, it is assumed that anything in your inventory (weapons, healing stuff, etc...) is fair game for use. Finally, you cannot attack someone at the same location while you are investigating...however, you can be attacked by players who are at the same location but are not investigating. In your action you must tell me how many days it will take to investigate that location
Purchasing-You can purchase items from the shop. To purchase things from the basic shop or car shop, you don't have to be at a particular location. And obviosuly, you cannot spend more than the money in your account. Also, when you purchase a car, it will sutomatically be placed in the same location that you are. You cannot purchase while Investigating, but you CAN purchase while traveling.
Damage/Dieing
There are four levels of damage in this game (just like in the Resident Evil video game). Those levels are: fine, 1st level caution (yellow caution), 2nd level caution (orange caution), danger. Once you go past danger, you DIED (see the you died page, see your name? YOU DIED!) You can take damage in player attacks and by running into monsters while investigating. You can be brought up to "fine" status by using certain healing things like green herbs and medic sprays, which can be purchased in the shop of found by investigating a location. The shop details how much damage is healed by each item you purchase or find. It is also possible to become poisoned by certain monsters. Every 2 days I update that you allow yourself to be poisoned, you go down one status level (for instance you will go down from yellow caution to orange caution after the first 2 days, and then from orange caution to danger after the second two days). If you have a blue herb (which cures poison) in your inventory, it will automatically be used to counter the poison. If you don't, you must either find one or buy one, and when you do it will automatically be used to counter the poison. If you die, you can begin play again as a different character, but you will start over again with a newbie's inventory, money, etc...
Your status
Your current level of damage, inventory, location, and status can be found on the roster page.
Teams
It is often said that survival is most easily accomplished in numbers. It is possible to form teams of people in order to benefit each other. If you wih to start a team, e-mail me (it will not count as your action for the day). If you wish to join a team, you must first ask the team's leader and have them mail me with confirmation that you are allowed to join. However, teams with members of different or opposing factions will NOT be accepted!
Cars
Cars will be your best friend in this game! They drastically reduce your travel time, so they allow you to do more things to increase your chances of survival in Delta City. You do not have to use your car to travel, and you can choose to leave it at a location. However, if a person investigates this location, it is possible that they could "find" your car and take it. Or, if your car is left unattended, certain creatures might decide to have fun with it. So, think twice about where you leave your vehicle.
Enhanced Vehicle Rules
Using vehicles to Investigate:
Locations are now designated as being interior or exterior. When you wish to investigate an exterior location, you now have the option of using your vehicle to assist you. Vehicles used during investigation allow a greater degree of protection from monsters and other players, but you may not be able to explore a location as thoroughly in a vehicle as on foot. NOTE THAT ONLY EXTERIOR LOCATIONS CAN BE INVESTIGATED USING A VEHICLE! Locations that say "INTERIOR/EXTERIOR" may also be investigating with a car, but during the course of the investigation there are some places where you may have to get out of your car to investigate.
FINISHED
Well, thanks for reading folks! Hope you have a lot of fun and join soon! And remember...be prepared for anything...(Depends are not included...heehee)
