The Downfall Of Pandora |
With hair of gold, and supple limbs, Pandora had beauty of the gods; A figure that came from high above, But with success against the odds. Pandora was blessed with a special claim, The first Woman on Earth was she, Molded by Zeus to ruin Mankind, For she had her curiosity. Pandora was presented a special box, All covered in emeralds & gold; It must never be opened at any time, Nor sent away or sold. Days went by; the woman thought, More of that golden case; "'What did it have?"' "Just one look!" As she sat there in her lace. Pandora walked up slowly to the box, And lifted up the lid; The case snapped open, too late now, For Evil made it's bid. Foul plagues did rent the air, And darkened the blue cast sky; Pestillence, hunger, also war, Upon the Earth did lie. Pandora cried by that golden box, '"What surely have I done? For this day can never be healed, And shall affect everybody's son" She looked into the golden case, To see if she could cope; There was nothing in that special jar, Except the object Hope. |
