Amsterdam
Amsterdam was our first and last stop on this trip. It is a bustling, busy city with beautiful canals and wide, accessible streets. Now a major center of business and industry, it still retains an old world charm that makes it welcoming. Most people speak English too, making the adjustment easier for travelers from our part of the map!

When we first arrived, we ended up staying out of town at a campsite due to an international broadcasting conference being hosted in the city that week, so we cut short our visit to move on to Berlin, planning to come back and discover more on the back end of our European visit. Sure enough, when we returned it was much easier to find a place to stay. We ended up at a Best Western to spoil ourselves before leaving for Africa.
