Today we were to leave Liz & Steve's by 8:30am, meet up with Richard and Paula and family for a little while, then get to Salamanca Market for a couple of hours before meeting our Bruge friends, Jeremy & Jacqui, at 11am. Well, I woke up feeling absolutely horrible. The headache I'd had yesterday was worse, not better, and my bladder infection was still going strong. Glenn took pity and let me sleep an extra hour, then I got up and mustered the energy to get ready & packed. We left about 90 minutes later than planned, which got us to Richard & Paula's at about 10:45am. We called Jeremy and reset our meeting with them to noon, then spent about 45 minutes hanging out with these cousins. I even got a free massage from Paula, who is a physiotherapist, but the headache just wouldn't quit.

We left around 11:20am, which meant we'd be pushing it to get to the meeting place at Salamanca by noon. We found the fountain where we thought we were supposed to meet them, but by 12:15 we figured we might have gotten the wrong one, and with a little searching we found them! We spent an hour or so catching up with this great couple and their young son Hewen (8 months), then walked up and down the marketplace for a bit before stopping for lunch. It was now 2pm, and they had to go. So did we!!! We were well behind the schedule we'd planned, and had a long drive ahead of us to Cradle Mountain. We quickly walked through the market one last time, then headed for the car. We drove a good 2 hours before stopping in a market at one of the towns where we had to change highways. By now we were both grouchy and tired, and Glenn was worried that we wouldn't make the caravan park by dark.

Luckily we did, and checked in only to find that Marcel and Eveline had called ahead to say they weren't coming till tomorrow. We payed for ourselves, then went to the cabin. I was secretly relieved to have the place to ourselves, even though it was much more expensive on our own, and enjoyed watching movies in bed before sleeping in comfort on a queen sized bed at last!
