Erin's Victoria Journals - Christmas
12-25-02

Christmas morning was a nice leisurely time. We got up around 8:30, took a quick breakfast and shower, then helped Elaine with some of her preparations for the family feast later in the day. The first kids arrived around 11am, with Josh and Ryan racing in the door wondering when they could open presents, and their mom, Jenny, and dad, Steve, patiently explaining that we had to wait for everyone else to arrive! Josh was wearing a santa costume, and would be the present presenter! Then Rose and Brad and baby Charlie (Charlotte) arrived, and shortly after, Tim and Sue. With everyone present, we all sat down and opened gifts together. Glenn and I exchanged our rings, and happily watched the family share their gifts for each other. Everyone made off like bandits!

After gifts, people headed to the bar and living room for a pre-meal glass of champagne and some wonderful snacks, while the Anderson women went to the kitchen to finish prepping the meal. Sue's mom and her partner arrived to share the snacks, and soon after, the feast! We sat at the dining room table, 14 people crammed together for a tasty meal of turkey, ham, stuffing, various veggies, and good company. It was a wonderful meal. After, we helped clean up a little, put away leftovers, and had the rest of the afternoon to enjoy the holiday while the Anderson kids went off to various other activities.

It was a nice way to spend the holiday, if we couldn't be home with our own families. Thanks to the Andersons for a wondeful experience!
