| Glenn's Journal 02-24-03 & 02-25-03 Queensland Monday morning and with no plans for the day. I get the feeling that Erin would like a day off from doing anything but relaxing. The sun was in and out betwen some rain showers today and by the late afternoon it was raining pretty steady so being near the house worked out. I spent the day soaking up some sun on the back patio, having to run in occassionally when it started to rain. It was very convenient as it would rain for a few minutes and then the sun would shine through and I would return to my spot in the sun. I finished another book today, added in a nap after lunch, and stayed up late watching the Grammy's. I could not get to sleep so I was up late enough to watch the Today show from the U.S.. It was interesting to watch the Today show as when they went to the weather I saw the map of Australia. It just seemed a little different. Erin spent the day catching up on journals and preparing her vows. She also spent time reading and taking a nap. Dinner tonight included potatoes and a salad. We didn't need much as we had not really worked up a sweat today by any means of the imagination. I am hoping that we will go for that hike I mentioned the other day. Wednesday we will be heading back to our friends place just north of Brisbane by way of the Australia Zoo (The Crocodile Hunters place). It should be a fun day!!! 02-25-03 Queensland This is our last full day in Noosa and the rain and clouds are pretty settled. The forecast is for rain all day clearing starting tomorrow. We spent the morning relaxing around the house with each of us reading our books, Erin on the couch while I sat outside under the canopy (I tried to sit outside in the sun but I would settle into a chair and it would start raining again by the time I had read one page). We had lunch around noon and finally showered up so we could at least get out of the house. We drove south and towards the beach and as we made it to the coast we turned left and headed north along the beaches. We stopped at one beach for a while but we did not stand on the beach verylong as the wind was whipping the sand around pretty hard. I am not a fan of wind burn and neither is Erin. We sat on the teetertotter in the playground for about an hour just chatting about marriage and what it means to each of us. We are going through a last minute verification that we are both ready to be married and the true committment each of us expects from marriage. We have very open and honest communication about every thing and I believe it is one of the most important attributes to a successful relationship. We truly do love each other and are both looking forward to our lives together. We continued our way north and found ourselves back at Sunshine beach where we had stopped on Sunday. We didn't stay long as the rain was moving in again and was heading our way pretty fast. We wanted to get some items from the store so we stopped at the Woolworths shopping center where I got a haircut (in preparation for the wedding) and we bought a gift item for our host (Nerida) in Noosa. After a little shopping we stopped at Domino's for pizza before finding our way back home. It didn't take us long to devour the pizza before we had settled in for the evening in front of the television. I crashed around 11:30 pm after having stayed up reading in bed. Erin came to bed after I had fallen asleep as she was watching "Angel". |
