Friday morning and we have a busy day. After breakfast we head out to a scenic drive through the Barossa Valley wine district. After an hour or so through the valley we headed back into Adelaide to take care of some business. At the same time we had time limits tied to making the 3:00 ferry out of Cape Jervis which was at least 1 1/2 hours south of Adelaide. Once in town we stopped into a Quantas travel agent to verify the price of flights to Fiji, especially using the "Boomerang Pass" concept. We determined that the "boomerang pass" would be the least expensive way for us to get to Fiji, and this included flying from Brisbane, which was our best choice. After the good news at the travel agent we stopped and made the call to get comprehensive auto insurance for the Corolla we bought yesterday. We completed all of this over the phone with the information being mailed to a friends in Melbourne. As we were heading out of town we stopped for lunch and some quick internet. We managed to complete all of our main tasks and still get out of town before 1:00 pm.

We reached Cape Jervis around 2:30 pm, and in plenty of time to board the ferry. While we waited at the ferry terminal we called a B&B on Kangaroo Island that my parents had visited while they were here 3 years ago. We ended up leaving a message but would try again when we reached the island. The ferry took about 50 minutes to cross over from Cape Jervis to Penneshaw, Kangaroo Island. Upon arival our first stop was the pay phone to call the B&B again. This time we managed to talk to Val Borgmeyer at the Attarak B&B. She had included us in the dinner plans based on the phone message and we accepted. The B&B is located on the south side of the island and would take us an hour and a half. We had some time so we took our time heading south (even getting a little lost on the way) but finally found our way past Seal Bay and Vivonne Bay before finding the B&B along Taylor Road. We met Val and Rodger Borgmeyer who have a 1400 acre ranch along with cattle, horses, hens, and even a kangaroo (named Katie).

This evening we enjoyed a home cooked meal before relaxing in the tv room. Erin and Rodger had beers while Val played the piano. We all headed to bed rather early (around 9:30 pm), or at least for us. We could not wait to see more of Kangaroo Island and tomorrow we plan the whole day in Flinders Chase Natural Park.
