Our journey up the scenic Rhine lasted only 4 hours, but involved 2 days of intensive traveling. We traveled north from Munich to the central town of Mainz, but due to the off-season schedule, were forced to move further up the river to catch the daily cruises up the castle-bedecked Rhine.
The October weather has been cool, causing the trees to change early and giving us spectacular countryside to view on our way. Dotted with castles and vineyards, the banks of the Rhine offer lots of photo possibilites and a relaxing few hours aboard. |
