History:
This Saab was purchased from a dealer out of Jacksonville, Florida by my parents back in 1967. If I recall correctly they paid approximately $3500. Mom surprised my dad by presenting him the car at the airport as he was returning froma business trip.
European cars were not new at the house as we had a 1958 Berkeley SE-328 and a 1963 Citroen to go along with the new addition. My parents, living in Melbourne, Florida, enjoyed many years as members of the local Sports Car Club. The Sonett performed in many rallies and gymkhana's around the state. The Sonett fit into our family just perfectly.
I turned 18 (1980) and bought the car from my dad (my 1st car) for only $300. I can still remember many days when my dad taught me how to drive "stick" and how much grief I took for looking at the pedals while I was trying to shift. I finally figured it out and enjoyed the car through my college years. (Have you ever tried to fit 3 college kids into a Sonett? I did!!)
