I returned in July of 2003 to collect the car from Jim and transport it to Los Angeles. Jim had made great progress and had the car relatively complete with the chassis (suspension, brakes, and all 4 wheels on and rolling), engine (engine in with everything hooked up), and electrical ( the majority of the wiring in and attached) as close to complete without actually attempting to start the car.
I had been lucky enough to hear about Bud Clark during my short time in Los Angeles and had the opportunity to meet with him about my Sonett. As most of you whom have Sonett's know Bud is an excellent resource for all years of Saab's. I dropped the partially restored Sonett off at Bud's (J & B Imports) so he could give it the once over and support the completion of the project. (In the end he was more than supportive and has become a good friend.)
Bud reviewed the car over and found a few mistakes that we had made. (What are we to know. We did the best with the manuals that we had.) He made the corrections and had the engine "purring" by early August. (This was in time for my parents to visit from Florida and see the progress that had been made. To say the least they were presently surprised!!)
