This was probably the best class of the show, though alot of people didn't participate. This made good use out of the trails and going out! Most of us were just playing around, especially a certain Melissa Edison and Amanda Ward.. Finally by the end it was an all out contest forgetting the hunter pace.. Made for a very entertaining class!
At the end of the classes, everyone put their horses up in stalls and prepared them for shipping. Some stable hands were left to start loading horses while the riders and owners migrated back to the indoor arena for an awards ceremony, for awards that were at this point, still unknown *g* Jodi Swinn came in for a second and said her goodbyes, having to be on her way to get ready for the Kewarra Stud show going on the next day. "Hope everyone had fun! I know I did!" she said before departing. Amanda stood in the middle of the arena, wearing shorts, a black tank top and her trusty ariats. "Hey you all! We're done, and just a couple of awards left to give. Be patient, because these are some very exciting awards, as well as prestigious."
Everyone was mumbling, thinking all the awards had been given. "First up, we are awarding a high point barn award! We all worked hard and competed, all doing very well. Our first place barn, was none other than Winding River Equestrian Center with 439 points. OF course, we had the home turf advantage, as well as being able to show our entire string since we didn't have to trailer in." Amanda picked up her trophy, $1,000 prize and plaque and placed it aside. "Reserve Champion barn awards go to Six Stars Ranch with 278 points." Melissa Edison hopped up to come and collect her trophy, $500 and plaque. If you would like to know how your barn fared, please e-mail Amanda and she'll let you know!
Next up is the award to the high point riders of the day. This was fierce competition, and the strong survived it =) Coming out as champion rider of the WREC Grand Opening Show is Beth Allan of RSH with 246 points! Beth came up to collect her $1,000, free breeding to Moarch (contact Adrienne to receive it) and a certificate. Coming in as reserve champion rider was Amanda Ward of WREC! Amanda also collected her prizes
The next award coming up was one nobody knew about :-) It's a good sportsmanship award! This was given to the two riders who were caught doing good deeds and helping everyone else out during the show. Of course, this couldn't be Beth, Amanda or Melissa as they were all mildly evil during the party last night *G* But nonetheless, these awards go to Andrea Meldrum and Katie Cat! Congrats girls -- you very much deserve these! Each girl was given a trophy and $250!
