Lady Macbeth's Suicide Note
I'm a sixteen year old girl from Staffordshire, England, and I'm in my final year at high school. In September I will be studying for AS Levels in English Language and Literature, Art, History and Sociology, which will hopefully lead to me taking a university course in creative writing and becoming a professional writer. I've written stories for as long as I can remember, and my lifelong ambition has always been to have my work in print.

My writing style varies, but usually I write in third person so I can give an overview of the feelings of more than one central character. I tend to write full novel-length works - short stories are a real challenge for me because when I pick up a pen about a hundred things seem to develop at once. At the moment I have quite a few pieces taking shape. First are my Arabella Figg stories, Dancing in the Moonlight and Resting in the Sunlight. I have been slowly developing this Harry Potter serial for 18 months and I have literally planned the complete life of Arabella out - it is now just a case of getting the relevant parts on to paper in a way that does her justice. I intend for the two pieces to be a study of the long-term effects of Peter Pettigrew's betrayal of Lily and James - sort of a before and after, focussing mainly on Arabella Figg, Sirius Black and Remus Lupin. The other thing I am working on is an original piece that is still in my head and not at the pen and paper stage yet - but so far it involves lots of complicated parallel universe theories that I have researched and been baffled by.

I'm a truly obsessive fan of the Harry Potter books - JK Rowling is my hero. I found the film a little disappointing though; the depth of the books had been lost as well as many of the great jokes. I thought Dan Radcliffe and Rupert Grint made a great Harry and Ron, although I couldn't help feeling that Emma Watson was wooden and not the Hermione I imagined. Perhps I am prejudiced though; my eleven-year-old self
was Hermione, and I suppose I was half expecting me to walk on to the film set and play her. I had the bushy brown hair and the bookishness, just a shame that was five years ago.
My favourite film at the moment is Gosford Park, which I assure you is well worth seeing for Maggie Smith's character alone. My all-time favourite film is Merlin, if only for Miranda Richardson's portrayal of evil Goddess Queen Mab, toying with the lives of mere mortals like King Arthur and his knights of the round table. I have a bit of an obsession with Arthurian legend too, and hope to write something based on it soon.

My favourite TV show is Buffy; I love how fantasy and reality merge on the Hellmouth of Sunnydale. I also love Friends, and according to
my friends I'm not unlike Monica, although I feel more like Pheobe. my best friends are Caz and Jude (aka Titania), who are very like Rachel and Pheobe.

Please enjoy my site and tell me what you think of it in
the guest book. I'd be grateful to anybody who'd like to contribute, considering I'm usually snowed under with work coming from other directions.
