                                   The Tale of the Hat

About twenty years ago, I was in Montana celebrating that states biggest holiday, St. Patricks Day.  We were having a "green beer", served only on that special day, when in walked a man wearing the biggest, greenest hat I had ever seen.  I knew right then that I had to have "the hat".
Not being a shy person, I approached this man and asked if he would consider parting with his wonderful hat.  Faith and begorra, he agreed to give me the wonderful hat on two conditions.  The first condition was that I would wear the hat every St. Patricks Day, no matter where I happened to be, and the second condition, that when I wore this hat I would think of Ireland.
I am happy to say that I have met the conditions every year and have worn the hat in some pretty strange places.
The great decorations have been added over the years by family and friends who "just couldn't help themselves".  It goes without saying... I love my hat!

Thank you Karen, for sharing your story with us.
We know that Karen has kept one of the conditions this year.  Karen wore "the hat" to the St. Anthony's Annual Ladies St. Patricks Day Card Party.  It has been a tradition for the ladies to wear their favorite hats to this event.  Although only a few ladies have observed this tradition in the last few years, maybe Karen has revived it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Well, be at the card party next year we will see.
We know Karen will be wearing "the hat"!!!
