A little about me

I ride a 1987 FLTC (custom, limited edition, 13 0f 200). I picked it up in 1994 at a good price. Yeah, if you look hard enough, you'll still find some good deals out there!
I've been riding since 1968 and this is my first Harley. I'll never go back. Ride what you enjoy and I respect you for that, but ... I know what I like.

I'm a member and currently vice-president of the Twin River Riders motorcycle club in Ottawa, Illinois. We are non-denominational, (Open to all bikes). Our membership is over 100. We like to ride. My wife and I ride about 12,000 miles per year (would like to do a lot more). A couple of our members ride in excess of 20,000 miles per year. We ride 350 miles every year to a restaurant in southern Missouri for supper (A place called Lambert's). We stay overnight on that supper run.

My favorite dealer is Rod Garrett at Garrett's Harley-Davidson/Kawasaki in Kangley, Il. (just outside Streator,Il.). Stop in and visit. He enjoys talking to the customers and his staff will take excellent care of you.

1997 We're not going to Sturgis Report

We're not going to Sturgis this year. Motel just sent us a letter saying they want $180 per night. Forget that! My wife doesn't like to camp so... We're thinking of going down to Gatlinburg instead. Ride the Smoky Mountains and all that stuff. If you are still going to Sturgis, you should check out Hulett. Last year there seemed to be just as many bikes there as Sturgis. The local law enforcement was much friendlier too. New T-Shirt Logo at Sturgis last year. It said: 'I rode my bike to trailer week'. Seems more and more people are not taking the time to ENJOY the ride TO Sturgis. I feel sorry for them. That's what it's all about. If anybody has questions on the Sturgis Rally, let me know. I'm not an expert, but I might be able to help.

Vernon is where I-64 & I-57 meet.) 128 of the rarest American Bikes in the world. Harleys going back to 1910. Bikes going back to 1905. AND IT'S FREE! Bring your camera.

• August 16-17,1997 - Nashville, Beanblossom Boogie. This is the Indiana A.B.A.T.E. party. Great time, lots of people, no hassle.

Iowa:

• July 4-7,1997 - Humboldt,Ia. ABATE Freedom Rally. It is know as one of the best rallys in the Midwest. They have Harley drags and decent entertainment. Held at the fairgrounds

Kentucky:

• July 18-20,1997 - Sturgis,Ky. Union County Fairgrounds. 5th Annual Little Sturgis Rally and Races.
