In the previous paper on the subject of the hypothesis that this event was due to the falling of an asteroid on the earth, on the site where the continent was formerly to be found, the result being due to the unilateral tide caused by the shock. This asteroid must have had a very eccentric orbit, resembling those of ones discovered a quarter of a century ago by Delporte and others. The falling of the asteroid would, naturally, be exceptional, but nevertheless such asteriods exist, and they may come quite near the earth. It may be added that otherwise we are not supporters of the theory of the meteoric origin of lunar craters. We have recently published a paper relating to a new theory of the origin of the terrestrial continents in the direction of the meridians ("Sur le contour des continents terrestes. Influence probable de la Lune" Ast. Nachrichten, B 284, H. 4, 1958, N. Boneff). This theory is in no way opposed to the existence of Atlantis, as is the case with the theory of Wegener where the origin is transversal, i.e. from East to West. The displacement of the continents in the direction of the meridians is due to what we have called "meridional tension". This latter tension, related to a secular diminution of the usual flatness of the earth, is due in the long run, to the tidal action of the Moon. We have tried to explain by this meridional tension some singularities of the terrestrial continents (the contour); it is a matter of certain transversal fissures. We stated that "If mankind had not surpassed nature, it is probable that the canals of Panama and Suez would sooner or later have created themselves".

We may add that this meridional tension had probably manifested itself in the remote past on the lost continent of Atlantis. N. H. Zhirov, in his book, "Atlantida", Moscow, 1958, notes that the Atlantean Continent lay nearly in the direction of the meridian and that it was composed of two or three islands. Could not these islands have formed in the past by a meridional tension breaking up a single large island. This initial dislocation can be considered as the beginning of the Atlantean disaster. (The submarine mountain shaped like an "S", lying at the bottom of the Atlantic, is not continuous.) But there is another cause, completely independent of the Moon, which has superimposed itself to cause the catastrophe. As can be seen in the work of A. Veronnet "Constitution et evolution de l'Univers", the terrestrial parallels of +, - 35 degrees constitute zones of fracture and of dislocation in the crust of the earth. In the Northern Hemisphere the 35^th parallel constitutes the well known Mediterranean seismic zone, while in the Southern Hemisphere, the 35^th parallel, passes through oceans in the main. This conclusion is based on the "Study of a hetrogeneous mass in rotation", which is also being studied as a possible cause of earthquakes. Nevertheless the meridional tension plus the seismic force which "inhabits" the Mediterranean zone, are not the only factors influencing the site formerly occupied by Atlantis.

It is for this reason that we continue to insist on the need for a "Drus ex Machina"- the fall of an asteroid, as being the final and definitive cause of the catastrophe of Atlantis.

In 1955 G. Demortier published in France a new theory of the cosmic catastrophe which has certain marked resemblances to that of Hans Hoerbiger. This new theory presupposes that Wegener's theory of the contraction and the convection flows of Wegener and others, has failed because it does not take into account all the facts of history of the earth. The author considers that the orogenesis of the Alps by non catastrophic means is impossible because of the hardness of the earth's crust. He thinks that there fell into the earth a giant meteor, twice the diameter of the moon, possibly a pervious satellite. In addition there were two previous moons that fell producing the Hertzian and Caledonian orogenisis. Both these satellites were smaller than the pre-Alpinean. The Pre Alpinean satellite fell into the Pacific Ocean, making a hole in the sialic crust, driving back the simatic layers and intruding into the core of the earth. This collision produced in the antipodal side of the earth the formation of the alps, of the Greenland Platau and the Mid Atlantic Ridge, which latter the author considers to be the joint between two continental masses. In the Pacific Ocean the ejected simatic masses forms the ring atolls of the islands. A by product of the catastrophe was the beginning of the ice age, climatic changes, floods and girdle tides, etc.

But this hypothesis ignores the well known facts of geological history of earth and all the basis of historical geography and, also the fact that the effect of a fall of such a large satellite on the Earth would be that of the explosion of a great number of hydrogen bombs and would destroy all life of on Earth. The idea is similar to that of S. Bashinsky, a Russian Author, published 45 years ago in St. Petersburg, who assumed that a large asteroid had fallen in the pacific and had become Australia. Owing to this the existing antipodal continent cracked and moved westwards, becoming America. Because of the resistance of the solid continental masses it produced the folds of the Andes Cordillera chain. The central fissure which was formed between Euasia and America allowed great masses of lava to pour out which solidified into the Mid Atlantic Ridge (since most of which is basalt?). The steam from the eruption condensed into great rains causing the flood. This collision also displaced the axis of the earth and caused the beginning of the ice age. These events have remained in the memory of man as the deluge. This author thought that Atlantis was America and that it was displaced to the West. Another Russian writer, E. H. Bahanov, of Livny thirty five years before Wegener said that Atlantis was not submerged but moved away to become America.

Webmaster Note- There is a great unlikely point to America being the drifting Atlantis in recent ice age histories, the geology does not show this as the majority of continental drift theories in more recent periods. More likely a ancient kind of Atlantis may have gave way or drifted to be the bulk of the America's, but this is before the known history of man existing in pre-Jurassic times. Thus, America and Atlantis may have bridged together in various times of mans introduction or more recent earth history, and as time went on less so. Originally America and Atlantis were geographically completely connected but again before the age of dinosaurs. The point of Asteroids disturbing the land bridges later then we now know between America and Atlantis all the way to Africa is not out of the question in light of some underwater soil samples that the Albatross Ship and others found???

Atlantis, By Arthur Louis Joquel, Part 2 (a brief point)

"In India, there is a legend which many historians agree may be partly historical-the story of the Aryan prince Rama, whose bride, Sita, was stolen by the evil ruler of the island of Lanka, or the present Ceylon. In this ruler, Ravana, there seems to be an echo of the emperor of an Atlantean Colony. And a curious item in the story is that both sides, which were to be involved in a mighty battle to rescue Sita, seem to have had some sort of aerial vehicles-possibly gliders, which could fly long distances by drifting on the wind. Sita was finally released after the island was invaded and Ravana killed; and the invasion was made possible by a bridge, which was built, to the island from the mainland by Hunaman, the monkey god. No one believes that a real monkey actually commanded the forces that built the fabulous bridge; and it seems likely that Hunaman was in reality a very small, dark man, possibly a dwarf, who in many retellings of the story lost his human form. He also may have been an Atlantean who threw in his lot with the advancing Aryans.

Webmaster Note- Outside of the flying ships or two men battling over a celestial fish-woman The most impressive part is the Hunaman character. He is a monkey and a dwarf??? Hunaman is also Aryan for the Monkey-Dog star god of Sirius, while he is depicted as a Bes, or Egyptian Ophichus like dwarf-pygmy god. The face of the Sirius Hunaman and the Bes is a remarkable connection I am sure no one has ever thought of before this now printed point by D. Clarke. The Bridge formed by this personage is because he is a 'Ward' of Bridges celestial or terrestrial and the Milky Way at times were called the Bridge. We may find this was a celestial battle as well over Cetas, Whale, or Ophicus, the serpent holder (Dwarf) as to what king controlled the poles or the bridges terminus's i.e. Milky Way. This shows the complexity of reading into myths for few know Ravanna is Ra-Bena i.e. the Phoenix as well a constellation?

But it may have had another effect as well; intense radiation from the comet's tail may have caused many children born deformed, just as radiation from atomic explosions or radioactive material is known to cause such mutations today." "The old legends are filled with stories of monsters of all kinds, many of them man-like but having a frightful appearance; men with two heads, men with many arms or legs, giants and dwarfs." He goes on with the point that,"And gradually, since such mutations tend to be sterile, they failed to continue and died out".

Webmaster Note- Here we see not only Edgar Cayce comments as similar about the mixing of genetics in Atlantis and the "Things" slaves of the pre entrance of man, but also the genetic tampering earth, comets, and celestial bodies can do to man's evolution beyond many times his own control. The celestial mingling if not Alien beings may have inter-acted by at least the' asteroid radiation' effect making alien like creatures of both man and around the environments of man on earth. The myth of giants and dwarfs with celestial bodies is a possible outcrop of the 'asteroid radiation' theory which indirectly produced them and that it connects the both of them in circumstances by which one produces into the myths of the other, see? And if the material was guided in by outside visitors or of our own world's wishes it would definitely have huge karmic implications and impacts on evolution? The misplacing of the geo-magnetic forces of the earth by various being's thoughts or forms to attract celestial imposed manipulations (radiation) may well mark a 'side' parallel to the first fall of man or Adam. For Rib side is Spear, or Sper the word is likened to the Egyptian loan word for the tail of a comet, or a celestial radiance. These to I do not know if any have connected the two points before this webmaster has.
