In 1998 Bill Elliot and Dan Marino started a brand new
Winston Cup team. They hired Jerry Nadeau to drive the
new First Plus Financial #13. This was a pretty neat car
and definetley a car that Jerry should be proud of to be his
first big Winston Cup deal car. The car's primary colors was
forest green, orange, and white. On the hood was the First
Plus Loans logo. On the side above the rear tire was the
First Plus logo. The 13 was a forest green color, and so was

out pretty good for a rookie with his best finish in this
car being 21st at Daytona, his first race of 98. And as
always he was a strong qualifyer with his best strting
position being 12th at Talladega. But for some reason in mid
season Bill Elliot fired Jerry and sent him off to find
another team. Elliots loss I guess. Jerry did find another
team, after Melling Racing of the Cartoon Network #9 lost
their driver Lake Speed after a career ending wreck at
Sears Point. Melling invited Jerry to join the team, and he
has raced for Melling ever since, and will continue to
untill the end of 1999. However Elliot had to shut down the
#13 team in 1999, and Jerry just kept racing with #9.
