Few cars have a heritage as long as the Corolla. This extolled car has sold more than 25 million units in 142 countries, and that makes the Corolla the best-selling passenger car of all time. The car that will be built in India is the Thai variant called Altis. A 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with variable valve timing (VVT) generates 110 hp, the other version is the 1.8-liter which generates 136 hp.
Despite conservative styling the Corolla has long been one of the best cars on the market in most countries. It delivers a satisfying blend of fuel economy, refinement and reliability. Although the shape may not set too many hearts afire, the new model builds upon Toyota's reputation for excellence. The Corolla seems to impart a feeling of solidity and confidence that belies its size. The Corolla maneuvers neatly in town and takes curves with nerveless composure. A smooth ride is still one of the benefits. The front seats are comfortable and supportive. There is a greater sensation of roominess in the car. The big glove box is also a welcome feature. This car will shake up this segment given its pedigree.
