Talladega

Track pic
This is our annual track. This was also the first Speedway we went to, to start our goal of going to every NASCAR track in the U.S. I particuilary like Alabama, as my family was stationed there at Ft. McClelland when I was a kid, so I have alot of fond memories of the area.

This is a great track, but heed this warning....DO NOT park on gravel anywhere in or near track grounds. You will be towed off. This past spring we attended the attempted race of Sunday and also the attempted race of Monday and if you remember it rained liked hell, first race to be rained out on both the original rain day and the rescheduled day in NASCAR history. Anyway, if you have never been to Alabama, they do not have brown dirt, it is red clay and that place was a river of red, I have never seen anything like it 100,000+ people camping, driving, walking, falling in that red clay, it was awful!!! Well in all this mess they had those big yellow track wreckers out there hauling people's cars off that were parked on gravel. I am sure there were hundreds of wet, red stained furious people, looking for their cars for hours.

Track rating:8

Ease of access in and around Track :8

Track is in a super great place, Alabama has put in a huge 2 lane road which when you leave the track the four lanes go left or right. They have put signs up all over the area, for short cuts, (I am not really happy about that as this year there was one on the short cut we had found years ago : ) .

Track Parking:9

Again, they have done a great job. There is tons of parking and camping.
