located the first 5 colleges in OK. including: Alva,Stillwater,Edmond
State Senator in 2nd Territorial Legislature,
32nd degree Mason. member A.D.U.W Lodge Columbia,Mo.
Came to Ok April 22,1889 via Arkansas City,Ks., (Land Run)
surveyed 1 month and then made claim 15 miles from Guthrie,no one wanted it
because it was too far out, later became the Langston area. His family
followed in the following February. He was a school teacher in the winter
as well as a farmer & surveyor & civil engineer.
Crack marksman, and his boys became exceptional marksmen.
