High perfomance sidecars ahead of their time...
Moturist type P1
In February 1983 I mounted a MOTURIST P1 sidecar to my Moto Guzzi California II. To improve handling of the outfit and to make it fit for some serious long-distance travel, I made some modifications to the bike. Most of these mods were designed by Ed Pols, who also designed and constructed the sidecar. I did the work in the Do-It-Yourself workshop of Ed's motorcycle store MOTORTOER in Amsterdam. I couldn’t have done this job without the help and advise of Ed and his co-workers, and also of many of his friends and customers. Not only did I learn a lot during that week when I build the outfit, I also had a fantastic time, and I still think back of those days with warmth and sympathy. I dedicate this web site to Ed Pols and all the people at MOTORTOER who helped me build a fantastic rig.
