Cro-Tat hook, size 10 thread.
For detailed instructions and illustrations of the ds and p stitches, see my other designs.

Design: Formed up the left and down the right by 19 rings connected by chain lines, joined at side picots, and bridged across the center with dc.
Ring: 2ds, p, 3ds, 3(p, 2ds), ds, p, 2ds

Chain line: ch4
Bridge: dc

-For Rings, single 1st loop on hook serves as first half of the first ds.
-When making a joining to a picot, the picot loop serves as the 1st half of the next double hitch stitch (ds).

Working from base of the bookmark up the left side:
Begin with normal starting loop on the hook, which serves as first half of the ds.
Make ring. Make chain line.

In remaining rings:
At point of 1st picot on current ring, create joining to previous ring by inserting hook from back to front (to prevent twising of the work) through the last picot of previous ring.

Make 2nd half of this ds, and proceed with making the ring.

Continue until you have made 11 rings separated by 10 chain lines.

Keeping the work flat, bend the 10th and 11th rings around so that you will now be working back down the edge of the rings already made.

The 10th ring is the upper tip of the bookmark, and the remaining rings will form the right side of the bookmark down to the base again.
Make a dc bridge into the base of the 9th ring.

The loop now on your hook serves as the first stitch on the next chain line, so chain 3 to complete the chain line.

Make another ring, and bridge it into the base of the 8th ring.

Continue along in this manner until you have made an bridge into the 1st ring made.
Chain 25 for tail of Bookmark.

Make an ending Ring of 5(ds, p), ds, Close Ring.
Fasten off. Weave all thread ends into the back of the nearest Ring.
