A delightful song from Mozart's Le Nozze Di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro) The opera was groundbreaking and new, exactly what the Viennese public didn't like. It was very popular in other countries however, and though Mozart was pained very little for it, the fact that it was successful and people loved it was more then enough for him. The piece starts out sounding like a conversation (In Italian of course) two men (Figaro and some other guy I don't remember) and a woman (Susanna, my favorite character) talking to the near point of argument from the tone of their voices, then the music takes over in a quick but catchy ballet. This, plus the opera's political and sexual content, nearly made it impossible for the opera to be allowed by Emperor Joseph II, who had not only banend The Marriage Of Figaro, but also banner ballet in his operas. Mozart and the librettist fougth so hard however, and the music was so beautiful, that the Emperor gave in, and allowed Le Nozze to debut. A group of Italians (Lead openly by Salieri) were quick to try and take down the opera however, and unfortunatly succeed. Today, it is regarded as one of the greatest opera's of all time.
