A stunning Aria from Le Nozze Di Figaro. In this scene of the opera, a woman, "disguised in her maids clothing, hears her husband offer her the first tendar words in years, simply because he thinks she is someone else. I heard the music of true forgivness filling the theatre, conffering on all who sat there an absolute beauty. God was singing to the world through this little man, unstoppable!" (Quote, Amadeus, 1984) It IS quite lovely, and the soft, tender words, do work perfectly with the storyline. A strange opening expresses the confused mood of the opera, but this soon softens into the mans declaration of love, and his wife's sweet and shocked reply. A sweet and beautiful work of art that rivals many of Mozart's later works.
