Simon Preston and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Salieri's March turned into Non piu andrai

This absolutely delightful little piece is straight from the film, and one of the best scenes also. Picture this: Salieri has just composed a march of welcome for Mozart, as Wolfgang sits at the piano to play it by memory he remarks on how a certain section doesn't seem to work. Little by little, he chops up the piece and transforms it into a work far superior to Salieri's and then light heartedly remarks "There! Better! What do you think?" The song starts with Salieri's mediocre and horribly simple march, which is slowly changed into a sweet song, perfect melody and harmony mixes. Tom Hulce's funny comments through the march just add to the fun of this one. One can almost hear the jealousy and rage forming in Salieri's mind as he watches Mozart change his piece so it's almost entirely different. A very fun song! Mozart's laugh at the end is not to be missed.
Speaking text:

Emperor: This is yours.
Wolfgang: Keep it majesty if you want, it's already here in my head.
Emperor: What? On one hearing only?
Wolfgang: I think so sire, yes.
Emperor: Show us.

Wolfgang: The rest is just the same isn't it?

Wolfgang: That doesn't really work does it? Did you try . . . shouldn't it be a bit more . . . or this . . . this . . . yes! Better! What do you think?

Wolfgang: *Giggles*

Wolgang: *Laughs loudly*
