Monk | ||||||||||||||||
A USA original series | ||||||||||||||||

Monk is a genius work of drama and comedy, that proves an original series can be brilliant. Adrian Monk is a modern day Sherlock Holmes. He's smart, quick, and a formidable detective. There's only one problem. He's Obsessive Compulsive. His life was shattered three years ago, when his beloved wife was murdered. He was never able to solve the case. His OCD went out of control and he was kicked off the force. Ever since then, he's been helping the cops solve the hardest cases. With his nurse Sharona Fleming, Monk does his best to make it through the day in a world where nearly everything scares him, and his OCD prevents him from doing things others wouldn't think twice about. Tony Shalhoub is charming and brilliant as Adrian, a broken man, trying to cope with his wife's unsolved murder, while being an unbeatable detective, and noticing things other people wouldn't. Bitty Schram is also enjoyable as tough but tender Sharona, who is the only thing that gets Monk through a day. The series is touching and funny. With truly dramatic scenes, to edge of your seat thrills, to hilarious situations, Monk is almost a perfect show. |
