<< Rob Brown as Jamal Wallace Sean Connery as William Forrester>> |

Finding Forrester was, in my all honest opinion, one of the greatest films I have ever seen, and it features some of the most famous names in Hollywood history! William Forrester (Sean Connery), a lonely Scottish author living in the Bronx, haunted by the fact of a normal life after his first and last book published, which was dubbed one of the best books of all time. He meets Jamal (Rob Brown), a talented Bronx basketball player and sees his great talent in writing. Although Jamal has some issues with his new school, Mailor, he ends up in a writing class taught by Robert Crawford (F. Murray Abraham), a rather tempermental, but brilliant man. I found this movie to be so completely inspiring! Finding Forrester is a wonderful tool and perhaps a key for writing, which inspired me a great deal to reconstruct the way I began to write. As Forrester begins to teach Jamal how to better become aware of writing and about the inspiration itself, they both begin to grow closer with one another and with people who share the same passion. Lessons may be taught be the ones who aren't trying to teach you anything but the purpose of self living. Jamal held somewhat of a grudge against his writing teacher, Professor Crawford, because Crawford didn't seem to except the fact that first, a black man from the Bronx who only excelled in basketball (as far as he knew), second, that he knew and was liked by a famous author (and enemy), and third, that his skills seemed to far surpress his or that he has seen. Though it may seem complicated, this movie has touched my heart and will touch yours. |
