Charlie X
"You have to be nice to me"
Captain Kirk: The good ol' Captain tries to be a father figure for the boy. Too bad Charlie has other ideas.

Mr. Spock: The Vulcan is less than impressed with Charlie's survival story. Charlie melts his chess set, breaks his legs, ruins his Lyre, and forces him to recite poetry. Everything always happens to Spock...

Dr. McCoy: The doctor is thrilled with Charlie's survival, and believes he is a miracle, that is, until things get really out of control.

Yeoman Rand: The busty blonde that is the first woman Charlie sees, he falls for her immediatly. After she rejects him he 'makes her go away'

Uhura: Besides singing and getting shocked, she doesn't serve much purpose.

Charlie Evans: Creepy young boy who was orphaned and raised by aliens who had given him supernatural powers and apparently never tought him how to control them. He punishes anyone who he deems 'not nice'

Various people that piss Charlie off: They disappear, turn into lizards, grow old instantly, have all facial features (Eyes, nose, mouth and all) removed, and other nasty things.
Characters of signifigance:
The Enterprise picks up young Charlie Evans who had apparently been orphaned and had learned to fend for himself. The logical Spock objects that he must have had outside help, while McCoy argues that the boy did survive on his own. Meanwhile, Kirk decides that Charlie needs a good fatherly figure and steps up to the task. Too bad for him that Charlie is really quite insane. Poor Kirk, every time it looks like he can do something right, the boy he's mentoring turns out to be a supernatural freak. By now, Charlie has fallen for the beautiful Yeoman Rand, and though she doesn't return his feelings, she trys not to hurt him. When he becomes forceful, she smacks him and he makes her 'go away'. To where she's gone, Charlie doesn't say, but it's safe to assume it's not a good thing. Charlie makes it clear that he wants to go to the next human colony, and that he will make lots more people 'go away' if his demands aren't met.
Overall, this was a wonderful episode with humor, chills, and Uhura singing. Charlie was creepy and the fates he inflicted on people that he didn't think were nice, were effective without a lot of special effects. The whole thought that your fate lies in the hands of a very sensitive boy is scary enough, add the fact that he can control the entire ship as well as punish individually, now that is a creepy story.

Things I've learned from Charlie X: *You can sing an insulting song about Spock to his face without punishment, but sing about Charlie and say bye bye to your voice.
*Sometimes it's okay to take a swing at someone half your age.
*You can get away with slapping Captain Kirk on the ass, but not Yeoman Rand.
*Charlie is not good at chess
*Never laugh at a boy who makes people 'go away'
*McCoy and Spock will argue for any reason, anytime, anywhere
*A Vulcan Lyre, while being tuned, sounds exactly like the sond effect used when beeming up or down.
*Spock can be a good source of entertainment
45:25-And the purpose of this scene is...?
41:20-Continuity error, Spock puts his arms down twice.
41:08-Ohhhh, Spock looks flirty!
38:18-I'd be a little freaked out at this point...
36:56-Did he just slap Captain Kirk's ass?
36:15-Kirk is wearing a disturbingly large amount of makeup.
32:59-What a rude little shit
25:37-That was actually kind of pathetic Captain
17:53-Really fake fall Uhura
15:35:The walls are suddenly pink
11:25-While they were 'frozen' Spock blinked, Kirk moved his finger
8:24-Stop bragging
6:37-How would Spock know? He was no where near his post
Things to watch for:
Charlie: He shouldn't have done that, it's not nice. . . to laugh at people.

Kirk: He's a boy, in a mans body, trying to be an adult, the adolescent in him getting in the way.
Spock: And a weapon in him that could destroy you or anyone on this ship.

Charlie: It's my game Captain, you'll have to find out.

Spock: Yes Captain there's a-TIGER TIGER BURNING BRIGHT IN THE FOREST OF THE NIGHT!

Charlie: My friends . . . you said you were my friends . . . when I came aboard!
