Hi everyone, it has been such a long time since I have written anything. I just wanted to say I am still here and still going strong. I feel ok, havent had any problems thank god. I have not lost anything in a real long time, but still maintaining. I am still open for questions. thanks everyone !

WELL I GOT APPROVED YET FOR ANOTHER SURGERY!! I AM GOING TO HAVE THE EXCESS SKIN REMOVED ON MY BACK, LIKE YA KNOW (LADIES) UNDER YOUR BRA AREA, THAT FAT ROLL LOL. I AM GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT UNITL MARCH TO HAVE IT DONE THOUGH, SO I GUESS I CAN LIVE THE NEXT 6MO WITH IT, WHY NOT I HAVE LIVED MY WHOLE LIFE WITH IT.. SO EMAIL ME AND KEEP ME POSTED EVERYONE AND THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT

Hi, my name is Melinda Perez 28 from NYC. I had the RNY weight loss surgery on Feb 15,2001 with Dr. Dominick Artuso at Westchester Medical Center.
I did this website, so I can hopfully help someone else going through the same experiences as me.

First let me tell you a little about me. I am 5' 5 and my BMI (body mass index) is 49.5. I am the youngest of 4. I am also the one that has been struggling all my life with a weight problem. I live in Brooklyn NY with my fiance and our 3 year old daughter. I had tried about 1 1/2 years ago to have this surgery, but my insurance at the time told me there was no way at all they were going to pay for it. So in July/2000, since I have new insurance, I decided to give it a try again. I realized this was it, I was going for it and was going to have this done. I had a girlfriend that had the surgery done, with great doctors at Westchester Medical Center. I gave the surgeons a call, and the rest is history. I am doing this site to show other people that they aren't alone in this. I just hope I can help someone! I am still learning about this surgery, but I will help out in any way that I can.

I have learned so much in these past months since having this surgery, so much about myself. This surgery is a life altering thing, and needs to be used as a tool to lose weight not a diet. OH I am also down 75LBS SO FAR!! YIPPIE!!!
