Travis' Tips
A great new technique every month!
Hello to everyone who is reading this:

Because this is the first in an ongoing series of column's let me take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Travis Stafford; I have been a comic book/comic related toy fan and collector since I was seven years old; I'm now 33.

For most of those years I have also been an avid modeler and miniature painter. In the last couple of years I combined my hobbies and began making custom action figures.

In this column I'm going to try to share some of the tips and tricks that I have learned over the years. Most of these techniques are old modeling tricks but work great on custom figures as well.

In the future we will talk about different painting techniques, a cool way to make capes look like they are blowing in the wind, different bases for your figures and other ways to really make your work stand out.
You can see a few of my figures here while you're there be sure to
check out my friend
Mark Harvey's work as well, he has some amazing figures to show you.

Even a first time painter might discover a new way to do something. We can all learn from each other. I want to thank Mark for his friendship and providing me with the forum for this column. Many thanks are due to my Father who taught me everything I know about painting.

If anyone has ideas to share, questions or just a comment feel free to
e-mail me
