Fairy Tale, ending

It began, as many tales do,
With a Knight in armor shining,
And his love so lovely, fair and true,
In a faraway castle, pining.
The story ran, as tales may,
And carried his steed with him,
To a distant shore, so far away
To fight some dark beast of sin.
The epic went on, bold in term,
That the Knight fought wise and brave,
Against this ravaging, beastly wyrm,
Those distant people he tried to save.
The account goes on, carrying away,
That the beast of darkly sin
Fought with deceit, or so they say,
And the victory belonged to him.
It ended thus, this legend true,
With a love still softly pining;
For the Knight died, as heroes tend to,
With broken armor, no longer shining.
