Letterhead Assignment

 

Create a letterhead using Microsoft word

A letterhead is identifying information that is on top of a letter: name, address and icon.

Include:

            Your name

            Your full address

            Telephone number and email address

            Graphics - that is related to you or your interests

            A line separating your letterhead from the body of the letter/paper

 

Make sure you have rulers showing, and do not go below 2 inches.

 Change top margin in Word to .5 inch.  (Page setup Margins)

 

Suggestions for Microsoft word.

1.      Start a new document.  Change the margins in page setup to provide more room at the top.

 

2.      Make sure your letterhead is done as a graphic

Place your name in a text box (you can use word art)

3.      Use clip art to insert a graphic or two into your letterhead. Insert – picture- clipart

 

4. Select your picture by clicking on it with the left button and shrink it. Then right click to format picture. Choose layout and tight. Now you can move your picture anywhere you like.

 

4.      Group graphics (name, address, graphics and line). To group text boxes and graphics select each object, by clicking on the object and holding shift down.  Group by using option in draw.

 

6. Add a line to the bottom of your letterhead to separate it from the body of the document.

 

7. Make sure your letterhead is correct, clear and eye catching, but only occupies the top of the letter! Double check the criteria sheet and the steps outlined above.

 

8. Save as letterhead”firstname”. Save into your home computer folder and then drag and drop into the hand in section into folder named letterhead.
