Energy Review Quiz Study Outline

 

Grade 7 Science CNBMS Mr. Banser

 

 

This quiz from our Energy Unit will test recent information from text readings and activities, general class discussions and handout information since the start of the unit.

 

A few suggestions would be to read through your notes and review the text readings that were assigned and discussed in class. You could also make up vocabulary study cards and cards with questions on the front and answers on the back. The quiz will cover main ideas and not picky details to test your general knowledge and understanding of the Energy material over the last few weeks.

 

The following areas should be reviewed and practiced:

 

·                    Definition sheet

·                    "Where's the energy?" handout

·                    Potential or Kinetic handout (log, car and bow/arrows)

·                    Input - Output fill the blank handout

·                    Notes on Work and Power

·                    Textbook pages 222 to 232

 

 

You will be quizzed on the following things:

 

·                    the 10 forms of energy.

·                    picking out energy forms in everyday life.

·                    the definition of and difference between kinetic and potential energy.

·                    the definition of energy.

·                    Energy transformation - definition, importance, recognizing when one energy form is changed to another.

·                    Law of conservation of energy

·                    Input energy and output energy - when presented with a device, know what is the input and what is the output energy.

·                    Efficiency - definition

·                    Work, joule, Power and Watts - specifically: know how scientists define

work                                   

know the Work formula and the Power formula.

know that a joule is a unit of measure for work or energy

know that a Watt is a unit of measure for power.
