There are five class types in the original Diablo II, and two added classes in Diablo II, Lord of Destruction. The original five are Paladin, Barbarian, Sorceress, Necromancer, and Amazon. The two added classes are Assassin and Druid. The Paladin is a warrior of God, battling evil with his steadfast determination and inner light. He aids his friends and curses his enemies with thoroughness. He is highly reliant on finding good items, as each of his four areas is important in his struggle against the Prime Evils. The Barbarian is the fiercest of all races, battling evil with his violent tendency to destroy anything unlikeable. Finding items that increase Magic Resistance is of prime importance to any Barbarian. The Sorceress is arguable the most skilled character in Diablo II. She has many useful qualities, and when combined with any other characters, is a deadly force. The most important thing to a Sorceress is overcoming her natural lack of Vitality and Strength. The Necromancer is the most unique character of all. Using the forces of long-dead heroes, he summons beings to fight alongside himself. Many fear the Necromancer, quoting his madness. However, madness is often confused with genius. Like the Sorceress, the Necromancer must also overcome his natural lack of Vitality and Strength. The Amazon is dangerous when coupled with another Amazon or one of the magical characters. Her adeptness with bows and crossbows make her nearly untouchable. However, she must also make sure she doesn't focus on area more than others. The Assassin is just that, armed and deadly. She sneaks in, kills quickly and quietly, and leaves. She must make sure also to not focus on one area, killing her chances of being a well-rounded fighter. The Druid calls upon the forces of nature to fight. He can become different creatures, gaining the experience of the creatures he becomes. He must make sure to keep high mana levels to allow him room for melee fights. |
