Things to Do in St. Paul and Minneapolis

Like sports? Well, you've found a good metropolitan area. The Twin Cities offer teams in all four major professional sports leagues, plus a Big Ten University in Minneapolis, not to mention minor league soccer, arena football, and MIAC Division III sports. Here are some of the Highlights:

Hockey

Minnesota Wild

Xcel Energy Center, Kellogg and 7th Streets, Saint Paul, Minnesota

Hey, we live in Saint Paul, so of course we're going to list the Wild first. By the time our wedding rolls around, the Skating W's will be in their second season, and that means they'll probably still be pretty bad. But Marion Gaborik is a bright young talent, and Jacques Lemaire gets all he can out of the guys, and the Xcel Energy Center is a truly beautiful stadium.

Football

Minnesota Vikings

Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, Minneapolis, Minnesota

The Vikes play the Green Bay Packers on October 21, so good luck getting a ticket. The Vikes boast an outstanding young quarterback in Daunte Culpepper, and they're fun to watch, win or lose. You'll have to find a friendly scalper, so maybe you'd rather watch the game on TV. Or come to our gift opening!

Basketball

Minnesota Timberwolves

Target Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota

Hey, sure they tried to sign Joe Smith to an illegal contract, but what the hey, the Wolves are still entertaining. At least as long as Kevin Garnett keeps playing. Enjoy NBA basketball at very high prices at Target Center!

College

University of Minnesota Golden Gophers

Mariucci Arena, Minneapolis, Minnesota; Sports Pavilion, Minneapolis, Minnesota

If you enjoy big-time college sports, the U of M has it. Fall brings Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, and Hockey action to the Twin Cities. Check the University's website for schedules.
