San Francisco, California October 2004 |
In October 2004, I had the opportunity to travel to San Francisco on business. I had never been to the West Coast, but had a great time. After giving a presentation, I spent a little time sightseeing. This photo was taken at Fisherman's Wharf, looking out over the San Francisco Bay towards Alcatraz. It was a nice and sunny day, perfect for taking a stroll around the city. |
My first day in San Francisco started with this view, overlooking the Bay and the Oakland Bay Bridge. I could also see much of the downtown area, including the Federal Reserve Bank, where I spent some of my time later in the morning. After a pit stop at the local Starbucks, I got down to business and went into work. It's definitely an amazing city. |

I was introduced to the cable cars by a colleague of mine. The price was $3.00 one way. I saw a lot of the city by this historic means of transportation, including China Town, Fisherman's Wharf (end of the line), and the famous Lombard Street. Dinner that night consisted of clam chowder and the fisherman's platter. Come on now - you know how I love my seafood. |
The hustle and bustle of Fisherman's Wharf is seen here. A wide selection was available, but I decided to have Fish and Chips for lunch. I ventured out Pier 39 and over towards the Golden Gate Bridge before walking back to the hotel. Though my stay was only a few days, I hope that I am able to return to San Francisco one day and pick up where I left off this time. |
