Cancun, Mexico
The day after graduating from high school, I got on an airplane with nearly half of the senior class from Duluth High School, and flew to Cancun, Mexico.  This is the hotel where we stayed.  It is called the Cancun Palace.  It's an all inclusive resort.  There are several restaurants on site as well as swim up bars, entertainment, swimming pools, putt-putt courses, exercise rooms, and more.  It is an awesome place.  This was the view from our room.  I roomed with my friends Jordan, Scot, Stephen, and Jim.  We had an absolutely wonderful time, as you can imagine.  It was a perfect way to graduate from high school.
Here are my roommates - we all went to school together.  From left to right: Jim, Jordan, Scot, James, and Stephen.  I don't exactly remember how we worked the living arrangements out - we only had two beds.  As you can see, there are five of us (plus Courtney - not pictured).  I spent a lot of time out on the balcony just chilling out late at night.  I'll never forget all us guys smoking cigars out on the beach the last night we were there.  The weather was perfect the whole time we were there.  Well, it was a little hot I should say.  Still, it was all worth it.  We had a blast!
This photograph was taken on a deserted island off the coast of Cancun.  I do not know exactly where the island is.  We took a boat from the Fat Tuesday's restaurant to the island.  I remember there being a huge crowd of young folks like myself waiting to get on board.  There were wild and crazy things going on while we were waiting to leave.  There was a lot of music and a lot of drinking.  Once we reached the island, we had a dinner (which is what we're supposed to be doing in the picture).  They had a lot of live entertainment which I also participated in.  I got up on stage in front of nearly one thousand people and sang "La Bamba" in a kareoke contest.  I took second place.  It is probably one of the wildest things I have ever done.  I am not the type of person who would just get up on stage and start letting it fly.
This photograph was taken on our boat trip to the island.  From left to right: Jordan, Courtney, Jim, Scot, James, and Stephen.  I'm wearing my t-shirt from our senior party from a few days earlier (well, the day I graduated high school).  Since cancun, we all have kept in relatively good contact, except no one has heard from Stephen.  Jim is in Pennsylvania and is a firefighter.  Jordan is getting married in June of 2003.  Courtney and Scot are in a relationship the last I heard.
